They didn't even do a good job with it, either.

Will Chris Jones still be holding out week 2? What a gift

Their defense is lower half of the league without him. They have an excellent D-coordinator who masks talent deficiencies.

Trey Lance traded to the Cowgirls. Just think if they took Jamar Chase

Being out here, that’s just odd.  They love Cooper Rush.

It also helps if the other team can't run the ball because they are behind so much.

The 49ers? They shouldn't have been in position to do it. They should have just kept the picks they used to trade up. The 49ers flushed 2 extra first round picks (2021, 22, and 23) to make that move.

A truly Jaguars-esque move.

Yeas the 49ers.  They should have taken Chase.  Their offense would be unstoppable. Chase is worth that trade up

Poor Trey Lance. His development was stunted by the pandemic, he declared for the draft too young, and is a graduate of the Jimmy Garappolo School of Injury. Hopefully the guy has a future in Dallas, but now he's subject to the vagaries of Jerry Jones.

The picks after Lance will be the reason this will go down as the worst trade in NFL history. They gave up 3 1st rounders for 8 games when they could have had:

Chase
Pitts
Surtain
Parsons
Waddle
Sewell
Slater
Horn

Tough sledding there

No one would trade the first round picks for a wr that was coming off a year in which he didn't even play.

Besides that, though, I'm not convinced he would have the career he's had so far if he wasn't in the situation he's in right now. He's got a great QB throwing to him and he has Higgins on the other side of the field keeping all the coverage from just rolling to him.

Lol he's still got a long way to go for development
Only 102 pass attempts his whole NFL career
But hey, he still got paid millions to just do what he's told to do
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Great running back with vision and speed. Sadly, he wasn't blessed with durability. Hopefully he secured enough to set him up for a good long while.
