Still has work to do as a pass rusher but I see improvement. Let's see how it goes. Inside stunts are enough to get him matched against guards.

He has to. It's his job. Just needs to show he's learned more than just trying to bullrush blockers like they're practice sleds.

We get it man. You're strong. Cool. A lot of these guys you face are strong as well. Going to have to show some spin moves, rip moves or hump moves.

It's a game of leverage 75% of the time. Have to add some salt and pepper to the table this year on defense.

What I mean is not to run squarely into blockers. Good pass Rushers can shed blockers before they engage. All to often he would run squarely into a blockier and was just shut down. There is technique like leverage, leading with your shoulder, slapping blockers hands away, etc. I don't want to see him bear hugging linemen again.

What's frustrating is the NFL doesn't have a minor leagues. Drafting based on raw potential negates years from a typically short career. I'd rather draft a guy with a lower "ceiling" (supposedly) like Hutch, who already has a bag of tools, than a workout warrior who requires a few valuable years learning the craft. When/if Walker finally starts to realize his potential, it will be time to pay him. This is exactly the predicament the FO faces with Josh Allen. Meanwhile, Hutch will have already contributed dozens more sacks to his team on a rookie contract. Thus, even if they're equals from that point forward, or Walker eventually overtakes him, Hutch will have delivered far more value to the Lions overall.

Fair take.

I don't care what hutch has done

All I know is that we will make or win a superbowl this or the next few years,  while we leave the lions in our dust

Happy to see some production from him. Kinda felt like he disappeared, but overall a good game.

A lot to go as a pass rusher, but got a sack in a two minute situation, strong in the run game. Good start!

Playing AR is a good warm up game for for Mahomes with the running ability. Mahomes will take off and run as well

Needs to learn how to sell the outside rush but work himself back inside. He keeps trying to turn the corner too much as a big bodied rusher.

It's weird. He needs to half and half it. Use full strength to get your blocker off balance about 2 steps in and then he needs to decide to either rip or bump his way back inside or spin outside to stop this goofy [BLEEP] half circle attempts he's making.

I honestly would rather see him lined up on the guard against KC right off the bat with Abdullah working the edge next to him to either outright rush Mahomes or contain the edge.

Hopefully he starts getting there. Have faith.

I thought he had a pretty good game against Indy. He wasn't as dominant as Allen was but I don't expect him to be yet.

He had the one sack and he had a really good effort tackle against the run where he came all the way over from his spot to the opposite side. He's not THAT bad of a player. I just think at some point the staff needs to swallow it's pride and consider moving him down and inside where he has the potential to be more dominate.

It'll be interesting to see how they attack the Chiefs this Sunday because they struggled at times on TNF against the Lions. Taylor's going to perform the way he usually performs. I would honestly double stack his side and use his get off to our advantage. If he's playing that far deep and trying to jump early you need to make him think more.

Throw Walker and Allen at this [BLEEP] on 3rd and long. Bring the safety and LB up on Pacheco on the opposite side and keep Oluokon on spy duties with Mahomes. They need to get aggressive and stay aggressive until Kansas City's receivers can prove they can catch the football.

People think Travon Walker isn't a good football player? Really?

He's good. Just not #1 overall pick worthy good at the moment. We have a lot of trust fund kids on this board. When they got toys as kids it was already preassembled, came fully charged with batteries and had all the batteries.

Nobody wants to wait and see with Walker.

Dudes massive and a freak of an athlete. It's awesome he can cover, but I feel like it would benefit the team way more if they focused him on pass rushing. If we had sacks racking up else where things would be different.

4 sacks yesterday. Three bay Allen, one by Travon. Things are going in the right direction.
