Trevor Lawrence: Franchise QB (TL Discussion, Merged Threads)

He has 3-4 tds if the wrs kept their feet in bounds
Mahomes also struggled in what they kept advertising as 120 degree weather.

Im not worried, but he still needs to be more consistent in general. The elite ones show up eventually.

Wait.... I know I don't come around much anymore but weren't you a "Trevor sucks" guy last year?

No i was more of a “stop calling him elite until he fixes his own flaws kind of guy”

I cant be mad at Sunday when we coulda won multiple times if the wrs kept their feet in bounds.. its a lot different than say, losing to the eagles by 10 because your qb fumbled 5 times or threw a bunch of picks that sailed over the wrs heads

I wasnt here last year but I def wasnt on Trevors bandwagon until the very last few weeks of the season.

Now i think he has the potential to be a HOF QB, but the better question is can we sorround him with talent? We already have talent at the wide out but we need to get him a better line or will waste his prime years like the Colts did Andrew Luck.

Up to the front office to figure out where their priorities lie. Right now he's getting barely 2 seconds to process the field through 2 weeks. Only way to fix that is to find better players, hope for better play out of your current line-up or scheme the offense around this weakness to give him a chance.

We'll be lucky to win 10 games at this rate though. I won't panic unless they lose to the tinhorns this Sunday.

Deal.

I was just about to start a thread debating drafting for need vs BAP anyway.
That should be original.

Of all the commentators and analysts that we hear every Sunday, how many share the "elite" opinion?  I'm talking about Romo, Aikman, Strahan, Bruschi, Long, Bradshaw, Collinsworth, Esiason, etc.   These guys understand the game at a level most of us can't even imagine.  Perhaps I simply missed the broadcast, but I don't recall any putting that label on him yet.
When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

I have no idea, since for some fricking reason JAX-KC was still drawing Ian Eagle and Charles Davis as the broadcast team. I don't think any of the top broadcasters/analysts have even seen a Jag game in over a decade.

I think we've had Romo and Nantz once or twice since Lawrence has been in Jacksonville. More than likely for the Kansas City game. As far as Sneakers comment regarding the term "elite" being thrown around, most of these guys are pretty crafty. They won't say "Oh, he's an elite player, etc" they'll just look for a big play, pinpoint it and say "See, that play right there? That's an elite level play".

Romo would have been freaking out if he had seen that whip of a throw Lawrence made in between two defenders in the opening week to Ridley. Same for that throw to Zay Jones in the endzone. We'll eventually get some good crews for our games. I can tell you that I am honestly not looking forward to our TNF game with Michales and SNF game with Collinsworth.

I just find both of them washed up now and boring. Not sure who we'll get for MNF against the Bengals.

Uh, this is Trevor from last year... he had a decent stretch late... Early last season this is just about the norm for him. He's a borderline bust, it's clear he is not going to be a top 5 QB. Everybody crowned him this last off-season and he's regressed mightily. Even if you give him the Ridley TD his stat line today is atrocious. This team needs to seriously consider putting QB back on the draft need list this off season if this level of play continues from 16.
