Fan Reaction To Loss Of Steve Smith
|
Quote:Edit: Also to clarify TMD i wouldnt call the kid a brat he is upset over losing the player he has probably idolized his entire life and was likely the first player he called his favorite or could even say the name of. He made a reactionary movement to someone putting a camera in his face with the intentions of seeing him upset. He actually seems like a decent kid as he didnt continue any sort of tantrum after that. What do you call a kid that picks a booger on camera and wipes it on your property (carseat)? Check out the footage at 0:08 to 0:12 seconds. The little sister is more composed and positive than the brother. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Kid wiping boogers on your property? It's his son. I get the feeling (as stated above) that some people don't know what it's like to have kids.

Quote:That little brat should have got the belt after he hit the camera not once but twice.....and then he starts crying??? That was my reaction, too. I have a feeling that little girl is going to have a much happier life than her brother.

Quote:Parents like you are the cause of violence in this world.Actually no. Parents who dont discipline their children and let them run the roost is a big cause.
Quote:Actually no. Parents who dont discipline their children and let them run the roost is a big cause. +1000 Yet, they don't see it that way...
Quote:Actually no. Parents who dont discipline their children and let them run the roost is a big cause. There's a difference between discipline and physical violence.
your clearly not a parent, that man is his dad not older brother. your right though the kid is more likely to grow up bad. his dad is a terrible example. the reason that kid has a bad temper is because of his father.
And cause I was a gazillionaire, and I liked doin it so much, I cut that grass for free.

This isn't the 1960's, you need to "get with the times" bud.
agreed maybe I didn't phrase that right. I was saying that child's behavior was immature because the father's was.

Lol I think the dad knew what he was doing and simply trying to get some internet fame haha doesn't mean he's a bad father or his son his a little brat although he sure seems like it

Quote:Fair play. I just disagree with TMD (as usual) Beating your kids isn't the way to go.. So a whap to the bottom as discipline for bad behavior is "physical violence" to you? I guess your idea of "discipline" is sending the kid to their room with all their toys/ cell phones/ video games/ internet. Yeah....that'll teach 'em!!! ![]() "Spare the rod and spoil the child" , I think is the time tested saying...
Quote:So a whap to the bottom as discipline for bad behavior is "physical violence" to you? There are more effective ways to discipline your kids, spanking them is not the best option by any means. Quote:Steve Smith saw and reached out to him, so that's cool.Any links about this?

Quote:There are more effective ways to discipline your kids, spanking them is not the best option by any means. While I will say that there are times and places for everything and like anything else the "spanking" as punishment shouldn't be "overused", as it has to mean something, or else the lesson is lost. But to infer that it shouldn't be in the disciplinary repitiore at all is just misguided at best. I have no doubt that some of the biggest offenders of lack of respect amongst young people are those that have not received solid discipline as a child. Quote:Question: Because I said that brat in the video should have been spanked for hitting the camera twice. Some disagreed, equating spanking as "physical violence". ![]() Did you even watch the video? By the way, I'm not the only one in this thread or the ESPN comments section after the video that thinks that brat oughta have been disciplined for his behavior. So apparently many people had the same first reaction to watching that video as I did.
Quote:Because I said that brat in the video should have been spanked for hitting the camera twice. The kumbaya club disagreed, equating spanking as "physical violence". Yep. What I took away from the video is that the father seems to be a real jerk to purposefully make his young child cry so he could get it on video and make his Facebook buddies lol. I personally don't enjoy seeing my children moved to tears. And for the record I have spanked my children when the situation dictated it was necessary. The difference between you and me is that I don't seek out opportunities on message boards to flex my machismo and perpetuate a stodgy, arrogant "the good olé days / this generation is hopeless..." attitude. We get it. You're a grumpy, lonely person who sees very little good in society these days or life in general. It doesn't make your opinions on parenting anymore pertinent than the next guy. Get over yourself. |
