Rauscher needs to take Little out for a steak dinner and confide in him something like, "Listen, everyone knows you're the future at LT, but Cam can't play guard. Your boy Bartch hasn't been eating his Wheaties. He's a smoothie-chugging soy boy. You've got to play guard right now so we don't miss the playoffs."

Since when do people think it's a good idea to have the lesser player play LEFT TACKLE??? It's like Bizzaro World around here.

Well we all know Campbell and Little are very good at the LT position.

What we don't know is which one of these two can contribute elsewhere. My money is on Little....

Underrated is also the loss of Manhert. Strange/Farrell not on the same level blocking.

Campbell* is what he is refereed to by his grandmother so please address him that way.

He gets uncessary hate on these boards but I'm willing to bet that "Cam" when healthy is ranked as a top LT in the league.

Regardless of the ordering of positions; the best 5 guys need to be out there to block for Trevor: Walker Little, Brandon Scherff, Cam Robinson, Anton Harrison, Tyler Shatley, Luke Fortner.

I think it shakes down as follows: Robinson-Little-Fortner-Scherff-Harrison

unfortunately Cam's ego will prevent him from kicking inside; as long as him and Little are locking down the left side I could care less who is where although I'd probably prefer to keep Little at LT since I think he's a slightly better pass blocker than Cam; that said Cam Robinson is by far our best run blocker. Even as a rookie in 2017, whenever we needed a big run or there was short yardage, we always ran behind him.

I would also bench Fortner for Shatley; I just don't think Fortner is strong enough at the moment despite being a very intelligent player. You can only do so much with smarts and technique when you're in the arena of world class athletes. I think Interior Oline should absolutely be a focus with one of our early picks in the draft next year. The cupboard is a little bare at those spots; and while i'm glad we have our bookends and depth at OT for the forseaable future, the pressure in the A-Gaps will get Trevor killed if not addressed.
Championship Formula:

1) Draft Trevor Lawrence!
2) Play good physical Defense!
3) Keep 91% of the roster healthy!
4) ???
5) Blank #2
6) CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Ooooh!  Ooooh!  Me!  Me!  Let me answer!

It's a good idea to have the lesser player play LT when playing the lesser LT at LT, and playing the greater LT at LG, is better than having the greater LT play LT, and the current LG continue at LG.  For example, assuming you are correct about Little being the better LT, then it would be better to move Little to LG when the combination of Robinson at LT and Little at LG is better than the combination of Little at LT and Shatley at LG.

If Cam at LT and Little at LG > Little at LT and Shatley at LG, then it's better to put Cam at LT.

no

He is routinely left off of OT ranking lists every year. Doesn't even make the list of 32.  Never seen him crack the top 20 on the few he has appeared on.

My eyes tell me that's accurate having watched him for a few years now.

This is the correct answer as to why folks think they want Cam at LT.

I have absolutely no idea if it will work out that way, but that is the hypothesis.

Will be interesting to see what combo they try.

The fact they yanked Bartch for Shatley at least gave me a glimmer of hope that they know how bad it is and want to fix it.

When have we ever seen the team's (any team) best left tackle play somewhere else to shore up the line and leave a lesser player at LT?

I know nothing about Little, but I am surprised how many assume he'll eventually be a fantastic at LT when the coaching staff isn't already starting him at that position (let alone draft a new LT in the first round.)  If the Jags enter the season with their LT suspended, isn't that the perfect time to get Little experience at his "future" position?  Seems like there is a disconnect between the coaches and fans.

Are you imagining the PED's he took is gonna make him a better player? Wasn't a top LT last year before his injury, what makes you think hes going to after being away this long?

Politics. You have Little as a former 2nd RD pick that was entering the NFL with a year or two of injuries out of Stanford, plus Covid setting everybody back in some cases playing time wise.

You also have Robinson's contract situation. He's accounting for our highest percentage this year cap wise. Close to $20M on the year, some of that might go back to the team due to his suspension.

Most of us with eyes can see Little is ready to go and is a better fit at LT. Hell, we even had our Hall of Fame LT, Boselli, he pointed out that Little has looked more competent and consistent in his limited starts than Robinson has as of recent memory this morning on our local radio show.

So, yes, to be fair, there's CLEARLY a disconnect, but, none of us really know what's going to happen until Robinson is allowed to start playing again. Which is this week I believe. It'll be interesting. We just want the best five out there for Lawrence's sake.

Feel bad for Cam...but with 6 games left in the season...if he's injured his ars needs to take a pay cut and extend his contract.

He's not worth 20 million per...but he's a good offensive lineman. Maybe someone else will pay him more, but I'd like to see him back here next season.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude.   Next season I want him gone.

I have a feeling the game tape form today is going to show us we don't need to be concerned about Cam Robinson next year.
Just need to find a good swing tackle to back up Harrison and Little, fix the center problem, get Cleveland re-signed, and make a decision at RG.

Agree, we seemed fine after he left, at least in pass protection.

I think we'll be okay with Little and Ezra.
