Trevor Lawrence: Franchise QB (TL Discussion, Merged Threads)

Trevor knows that if he sits, he'll likely never see the field again as a Jaguar.  Beathard and O'Rorke are positioned to take his spot as the #1 and #2 QBs on the Jaguars Depth Chart.  It's only a matter of time.   Just ask Drew Bledsoe.

Neither one of those is Tom Brady.

[Jdub]
Everyone knows that the O' prefix means "son of", similar to Mc and Mac in Irish and Scottish nomenclatures. So that would be Son of Rorke, obviously.

(you know this is parody because like farts would JDub use "nomenclature" in a sentence)

I'm not here to harp on anything or relive the same old stupid fight.

But that O-Line did a pretty good job on pass protection...  Lawrence is obviously a great QB.  He's top 5 in the league.

That play can't develop without decent protection.  But also, Trevor clearly saw the coverage was single on the slot and that he'd have an advantage with his Krik on the out route.  It was a great play.  Great play call.  Great audible, and great pass protection.

Lawrence moved those CBs with his eyes like they were puppets on his string. Just an amazing job by The Prince.

It's a 3 man rush.

I sure hope our 5 offensive linemen can figure out how to give Lawrence that whole 1.9 seconds needed to throw that route.

Doesn't look like "single coverage" to me. Looks like a zone beater with Kirk's would be defender biting on the hitch route from Engram and the safeties getting too locked on Ridley and Agnew.

Maybe go over it in slow motion and watch it over a few times...  The concept was not complete zone with an over...  Take your time, you'll see it.

As for 3 man rush...  we'd been exposed by that many times earlier in the season.  I'm not sure if you remember, but it was an issue.  I appreciate when our O-Line executes.  That's just me.

I think we can win even if Beathard plays, not only because of the defense, but we have to many weapons on offense, I can see the offense being more simple with Beathard

LOL
Trying to heap praise on the OL for defending a 3 man rush for less than 2 seconds. Gimme a break.

The DB lined up nearest the numbers (where Kirk releases) is either playing zone, or he should be fired immediately.
Only guy really acting like he's manned up is the guy covering Ridley.

I didn't heap praise...  Just pointed out good execution...

Lawrence did a great job moving the CB from the inside to the outside to cover Rideley.

The CB that was single on Kirk was explosed, and Kirk got an easy TD.  All of it was because of Lawrence and the Pass Protection.

That's all I said in my post.

Lawrence and Pass protection was the reason that play worked.  Oh and I gave praise to the Play Call as well...

So if you want to bait me into an arguement where I gave praise to the O-Line, the QB, and the Play Call, it's not going to work.

Let's just agree to disagree and move on to another thing, shall we?

Just saw Lawrence is #1 in the NFL on passing yards outside the pocket. With that said, I am going to punch that OC in the face if any bootlegs are called tonight.

First play call will be a play action, bootleg, deep shot to Ridley or underneath safety valve pass to Engram.
