Just over hearing the excuses every year. Trevor at some point needs to play up to expectations, everytime he plays bad its urban meyer, or first year in system, or wr drops, or o line, or press taylor. Sick and tired of the pandering, Burrow has had a clapped o line for years and he still produces.
Trevor needs to play better and, the play calling needs to be more on point.

The only person pandering here is you when it comes to Trevor. This isn't a Lawrence thread and he's the least of this team's worries. Burrow has never had an OL this bad and he has arguably the best WR in all of football. Anyways, it's not what this thread is about. This is a Zay thread and he helps make this Offense better when he's on the field. Period. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Hes the biggest worry, hes worse than last year.
Lawrence has made some big time throws to help us get to 6 wins. That same offensive line has helped Etienne score points. Lawrence has also helped Engram become a prolific TE this franchise has never had.
All you have to do is put the Dallas tape on from last year to see what Zay Jones brings to this offense. If he gets hurt playing behind the inconsistent patchwork we have blocking for him, we are cooked. If we can't keep defenders off of him for at least two seconds, thereby resulting in fumbles or picks, yeah, we're cooked. You're expecting the kid (compare his age to Burrow, might be interesting) to accomplish the unpossible. Do you think having Zay on the field helps or hinders Trevor's ability to move the sticks? At the very least, one would say it can't hurt, right?

He's played just fine in 7 games this year with two absolutely maulings of our line and an game against the tinhorns where his stats mirror Stroud's except that our Tank sucks and theirs played great. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Sick and tired of the pandering, Burrow has had a clapped o line for years and he still produces. The least of this team's worries is starting RB, TE, Kirk, and about 2/3 of the defense. The main concern is interior OL followed by DL/pass rush and then Trevor. I would argue he is a top 2-3 concern. I don't see how anyone can look at this season's tape and think Trevor is anywhere near the level he was late last season. He is playing closer to his rookie self than he is the back half of 2022. Sped up, bad mechanics, missing guys, turnovers galore. Sure, he has little O line help but there are other QBs in similarly bad OL situations that are thriving. His numbers are similar to backups and injured QBs, some backups already surpassing him, it's embarrassing. This offense will continue to struggle until Trevor can 'win' on Sundays. I expect 9-10 in the box from here on out, SF out right disrespected our pass game they had 10+ at times in the box on the snap. They realized something, it's time to wake up fellow Duvalians, Trevor has stunk. Teams are onto it now, and SF laid the blueprint. I expect nothing less from Tennessee onward, it's going to get tougher on O around here until the light bulb comes back on with Trevor.

He's got a higher completion percentage and YPA than last year, rushing more attempts for a half yard higher average, and he's take almost as many sacks in 9 games as the entire season last year. To say he's a worry or he stinks is simply absurd. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Trevor is the least of my worries on this team. No doubt, he has had a bad year statistically and has also been guilty of too many turnovers. I fully expect him to have a much improved remainder of the season, but the offensive line must give him more protection. Statistics usually don't lie and our line is rated in the bottom two or three in most categories. Baalke has certainly made some very good moves as G.M., but passing on Torrence last April was one of his biggest mistakes. The offensive line must become the top priority during the off-season.

A very short list of Balkie mistakes. -Interior offensive line. -Not drafting a cb early to help the secondary. - pass rush specialist

I feel like the Abdullah pick was meant to improve the pass rush, but Baalke should have known that the chances of him succeeding due to his size were minimal.(11-16-2023, 01:57 PM)jaglou53 Wrote: Trevor is the least of my worries on this team. However, I still have hope for Walker eventually becoming a very good player. The Bigsby pick was terrible on a number of levels, but the Strange pick was even worse. They passed on a potential pro-bowl guard (doing very well this season) for a slightly above average tight end. I feel like Pederson would have much preferred LaPorta, Musgrave or Mayer, but all were already taken so he "settled" for the next best option.

We didn't pass on him unless you are advocating having taken him in the first instead of Harrison. He got selected 2 spots before Strange near the end of the 2nd round. EDIT: Ah nevermind, forgot about the trade back from Rd 2 pick 25. |
