General Consensus on Johnny Football

JFF4Life makes it difficult for Manziel to pee. The gazing makes him uncomfortable.

Seriously, these fans are Tebow fan level delusional. I could tolerate the player if his fans weren't the worst.

Not necessarily. The numbers are actually a lot higher than you think.

Kid's almost got 30% of the vote on these boards, and that's only taking into account the most extreme cases of getting him at #3, or the most extreme case of trading-up. IMO, adding a few more poll options such as trading down and getting Johnny in the late teens, or picking him up at the top of the 2nd round if he drops that far, might have even a few more votes going his way.

And regardless, you have to of course factor in that this is not say Manziel vs Bridgewater or Manziel vs Clowney at #3, but Manziel vs virtually everyone in the draft who is available at #3. And so those who voted "Don't want Manziel" include a wide range of people, pretty much all those who prefer Bridgewater, all the Bottles fans, all the Mccarron fan(you know who you are Jungle Cat), all those who think we should get Clowney, Barr, trade-down, etc, etc, at #3.

As a matter of fact, other than maaaaaaaybe Clowney, I can't imagine any other player this year getting that high of the percentage(even on these boards) with those same 3 poll options.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

Yeah...70% don't want him.....Google "consensus"...actually 71% if you count percentage the same way you do Manziel's height...
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

This would be my want for this draft:

Trade down with Atlanta, pick up their 2nd rounder (37th). Pick Manziel with their pick (6th).

Use the 37th and a 4th and a 5th to move back into the end of the 1st Rd, take Ford.

Use our 2nd on a Center or WR

Then take Murray with our 3rd

Sure, would you also like to try our special: Trade back into the 3rd for Moncrief?  He plays in the SEC too.

As said before, the term of the polls are a bit extreme, and I think you're reading the results wrongly/too harshly.

I mean surely you don't think that any player in the entire draft would have over 71%, or even 50% of the votes for the #3 pick on THESE boards do you? Everybody has a different opinion from what I've seen.

So how do you ever determine a consensus then? Well you see who has the highest or lowest percentage

For example Manziel won the heisman will something like 45% of the first places votes, and RG3 won it with something like 34% during his year. Meaning there were almost 70% who didn't vote for RG3, but he had a higher percentage of anyone else...get it?

And so like I said before, put Bottles, or Bridgewater, or some of these other guys under the same three poll questions of 1)take at #3, 2)trade-up, or 3)do not want, and I would venture to guess the results would look something like this,

71% of people "don't want Manziel"

72% of people "don't want Clowney"

75% of people "don't want Bridgewater"

95% of people "don't want Bottles"

99% of people "don't want Watkins"

So then, you still didn't answer my previous question. Under those same 3 poll criteria, would any player(other than maybe Clowney) get higher than 30% on these boards? If not, then simple math would tell you than Manziel is in fact the consensus pick. Now lemme be clear, I'm not saying that's true, but you were the one that brought up 'consensus' numbers.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

Honestly, I didn't realize I had picked all SEC players. But that's where most of the talent is, so oh well. So sorry that you have a rufftime understanding that...

I'm not just saying this. I actually REALLY REALLY like that scenario. I myself am a fan of Murrays. I still can't tell though if he's gonna be one of those guys who is snatched up quick in the 3rd by some team, or someone that will still be around for the Jaguars to pick in the later 5th round or even later, with the plethora of really talented late-round QBs in this years draft.

Just giving you crap. In my experience it is better to not to hope for lots of trades, setting yourself up for disappointment.

With all the talented prospects available at #3 I have to say Johnny is holding up pretty well.  He's the obvious choice for QB among this board.

Says the guy who started a poll in which 72% of the board said they don't want him.

Can't wait until the second day of the draft, when all of Johnny's pimps change their usernames.
