Ridley

So we fire Baalke.  Who's the next GM?

It's all just a crap shoot.

While everyone is down on Ridley, it was a good gamble.  Baalke has been the best GM we've had in over 20 years!!!

Dude hits on most of his Free Agent signings.  Dude also has hit on certain draft picks.  Is he perfect?  NO.  No GM is.  But it's not the talent that is off.  We aren't executing.  It's freaking week 15 and this team still looks like they are trying to figure things out.  We also have several injuries on the D that has been hurting us.

If I was going to blame someone for the malaise of this season, it wouldn't be Baalke...

You get a high end WR that has been out of the league for 1 and a half seasons, and he still doesn't fully understand the play book???  Is that the GM's fault or the OC's fault?  Or the HC's fault for not telling the OC to get that WR on the right page?

Sometimes I feel like some of ya'll haven't worked in a big company before.

I’d love to see a breakdown of Tevor’s passer stats from receiver to receiver.

I’ve just felt that we’re forcing the ball to Ridley a bit too much. Not entirely his fault. But yesterday we were like 4/13 for 53 yards and an INT going to Ridley.

And he’s had similar games this year. It just feels like he’s getting a lot of looks that are unjustified IMO. Losing Kirk is a big deal, a bigger deal than losing Ridley.

That is pretty much what the eye said yesterday also. As the earlier poster said it does seem that we force it a lot to Ridley. Though I’m not sure how much of that is because TLaw loves his deep ball and when fully healthy he’s one of the best in the league to throw it.

Trent should be fired over passing on Hutch.

As for Ridley, hard pass. He has talent but his situalional awareness is suspect. The hot read on one of the picks where he never looked back. I’m not sure he is being used to the best of his abilities but regardless. We need a stud center with some attitude and the pick to resign Ridley might be that guy.

Meh.

Stats between him and walker are pretty similar this year. Hutch has 1.5 more sacks and 2 more TFLs. Walker is getting double teamed a lot more last I knew as well. The pick looked a lot worse last year than it does this year.

You never know who may become available but I would poke around on Olave, Higgins, or McLaurin.

I just don't see how the Jags can justify a mega contract and giving up a 2nd rounder for Ridley.

This.

For all his faults drafting, Baalke at least knows how to sign some quality FAs.

He has 1 career thousand yard season. It seems like he’s in la-la land too often. His routes are crispy but who cares. If he can’t catch it or see the football, then it’s all moot.

Lawrence had words with Ridley after he didn’t look for the ball. Kinda similar to what Brunell did to Rison in 1996.

Ridley main attribute is his route running, the only issue is that he is a lazy player in general - which may seem that he isn't as crispy but he always takes plays off his always had a bad reputation as far not giving his 100% on the field.

Ridley wasn't worth a 2nd rounder.

Wish Marvin was still here.

Agreed. Hutchinson has disappeared now. Walker continues to get better and should ascend. Hutchinson free lanced a stunt inside on Sunday against the Bears and enabled Fields to take off downfield inside the redzone for an easy touchdown. He lost containment.

I don't see Walker doing that this weekend against Jackson. He'll set the edge, hold containment and continue to eat a [BLEEP] ton of double teams like he's been doing all year. It's the other [BLEEP] guys that need to step up around him, Allen and Oluokon at this point defensively.

What's Marvin doing in Detroit compared to Ridley? I can answer that for you. He's done dick up in Detroit. Some of you on here have some really, really, really bad and dog [BLEEP] takes sometimes.

He's got four games left + the post season to warrant anything going into next year's off season.

R-E-L-A-X.

If anything? I would like to see him here in year two with being roughly two years removed from his rust along with knowing this system, and, more importantly? With a more complete offensive gameplan that can actually run the [BLEEP] football when they need to and with Lawrence playing behind an offensive line that probably needs a minimum of two, probably three to four upgrades outside of the RT position because you're invested there with a 1st RD pick in Harrison already.

"I wiSh MaRviN waS HerE".

You're starvin', just like Marvin my guy. He's had I think 5 catches this year for 35 yards....

You do realize we gave up a 2nd rounder for a guy that's still "trying to get in tune with the offense" right?

Marvin Detriot days isn't even comparable to what he was here for us. Detroit he has a [BLEEP] QB play with zero support in the WR room, so if you thought you just proved your point you did a horrible job. No one thinks Marvin is a WR1 but he was a player that gave 100% on literally every route unlike Ridley that is sleep walking on the field majority of the time.
