Trevor Lawrence: Franchise QB (TL Discussion, Merged Threads)

(This post was last modified: 12-18-2023, 01:07 AM by Jaguar Warrior. Edited 1 time in total.)

I wish that Trevor was the type of QB that willed his teams to wins in dire straits. Montana, Marino, Elway, Brady, Manning, Favre, Mahomes. I want him to be elite and carry this team. But right now he just looks like a good QB that only truly excels if the team around him is pristine.

Would you currently give him a $150-200 million dollar contract? I would not. He has potential but also very inconsistent.

4-5 years with outs after each year, but it also requires competent OC, coaching, and GM to build a team around the QB.

If you don't sign him, you have to find another QB without a top pick and good QBs don't usually hit FA.

Who would you sign over him then?

He'll definitely be getting more than $200m and he'll deserve every cent of it.

Trevor has to protect the ball better when he is moving. A qb cant be fumbling this much.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

You can't will what doesn't have the ability to be willed. I honestly don't believe there's a single QB in the NFL that could cover for all the flaws this team has.

Trent needs to be packing his office tomorrow. It's insane that he thought adding a rookie at RT was all the line needed and Lawrence is paying the price for his stupidity.

The clown show continues even post game... This entire team is a mess at the worst possible time.

I don't think all are problems are on one thing and I think Trevor is just trying to do too much at times maybe pressuring himself. Our issues have been there all year our lines don't win at the point of attack no consistent run game and play calling puts us behind on 2nd down a lot, drops, turnovers etc. Changes need to happen but we gotta roll with what they have this year and try to make the playoffs still. Trevor is still the guy imo.

Well I would sign his 5th year and let it play out to see if he can become the franchise Qb. It all starts with consistency. Right now it would be time to start the scouting process. I have not seen enough to bet the house on Trevor.

Trevor has not proven he can put the team on his shoulders.

If that concussion happened at the goalline when TL called a change, no one could hear him and TL says, "Just snap it" only to be swamped by a line confused about the assignments getting shouted out... Yeah, Wingard's fault.

Would Mahomes be able to put this team on his shoulders?

No because he is struggling to do that now with below average WRs, middle of the pack oline, a top 5 HC and top 5 defense.

I mean my goodness … on tank dells two deep balls they were complete busts ! No safety in the middle of the field corner outside leverage so he can just run a skinny post and completely get behind the defense ? Are we serious? And the TD what the heck have we never played a bunch set before ?

Multiple other receivers with no one in the vicinity and 0 pressure on a Backup o line ?

Watch stroud will end up looking like every other rookie QB for most of the rest of the year ….

We just managed to make a game so easy for a rookie it looked like he was playing against Rutgers when he was at Ohio state…

Pathetic .

Heads need to roll for this . At least figure out who wants to man up and do their fricking jobs . What these grown men are getting paid to sticking do .

Yeah, struggling with 3,700 YDs and 25TD.

In a game full of boneheaded decisions that one was pretty unforgivable.

He’s definitely a good QB but he’s got to find a way to become elite or this team is doomed again

The vast majority on this board think he's already elite. What are you? A hater?
