Er...Did FSU Have A Pro Day?

Joyner blows the entire Seattle perception of defensive backs apart, particularly corners.

By the time you actually find enough sure-fire candidates to replicate Seattle, the rest of the league has caught up and totally destroys Seattle and all the spawns generated.

Gus needs to get the best football players he can find period. Great ones, particularly corners, come in all shapes and sizes.

This "me too" stuff is for people that know nothing about football.

...way more potential then Denard Robinson at RB.

Warrick Dunn-esque.

Freeman is not worthy to tie Warrick Dunn's shoes.

I prefer Wilder to Freeman, but that's just me.

I'm not a Wilder fan at all.  Dude runs straight up and has no speed -- kind of like Greg Jones (post injury) without the strength.  I watched him a lot in HS as Plant HS had ~ 4 games on TV during his Sr. Year and he got a lot of yards because he was bigger then everyone.  He should have gone LB like most of the schools that recruited him wanted to be.  Freeman has that "it" factor and brings the necessary speed that we're looking for here in Jax.

Freeman is quicker than he is fast, but he has very good vision and is pretty good in pass protection.

Wilder is basically a poor man's Rashad Jennings. I would not be surprised if he doesn't get drafted. Freeman has a much brighter future.

Freeman is one of the best FSU running backs since Warrick Dunn.

I'm on the Joyner bandwagon. He has the skill set to play both FS and CB but will make his living as a ball hawking FS. The only concern about him is his size but if he's there at #39 I'm taking him.

More proof Florida State did have a Pro Day...

http://walterfootball.com/proday.php

Er, this Tony Pauline must own a piece of Biff Bortles. He was supposed to write up Pro Days results. Just try and find the FSU results on this Walterfootball.com Pro Day page...there are none.

The only mentions FSU even exists is in the comments:

"...While other media outlets will bore you with summary of Florida state and notre dame pro days, Walt brings it with first hand accounts of Bethune cook and Monmouth. Great work as usual Walt ..."

"...no FSU, no Notre Dame? ..."

"...So no one went to Florida State's pro day? ..."

Maybe you can make this kind of stuff up?  Laughing

Amirite?

This is a strange doing for sure.

For example, I wonder how many FSU fans had a 'meh' opinion of Kelvin Benjamin prior to the Seminoles' national championship turned upside down? Do they now endorse him?

The NFL Network guys disagree with a few of the posters here, who comment that Kelvin should not be drafted prior to the third round. The NFL network experts continue to project he's a late first or very early second round selection.

If you toy around with that first-pick.com draft machine, almost all of the FSU prospects are a big cluster sitting at the top of the second round.

Why don't you try google. There are all sorts of articles about FSU's pro day. If you did that you will find out that Benjamin showed up 17 pounds over weight.

Kelvin Benjamin, WR (6-foot-5, 242 pounds) — Benjamin had a 33-inch vertical jump, a 4.50-second short shuttle, and then stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. Benjamin had an impressive pro-day workout. He showed that he’s a very good route runner and caught the ball extremely well. I would imagine that this workout gives him an opportunity to be picked late in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

People were reporting Alshon overweight as well.  How did he do for the Bears this year?

I'm not making a judgement either way, I'm just reporting an article to show how easy it is to find info, even odd info, on FSU's pro days.

Besides, Jeffrey was 213 at his pro day and was lighter than at the combine not 242 and had gained weight since the combine. Not exactly a comparable circumstance.
