Quote:My gut tells me if we take Clowney in the 1st, that we will trade back into the back end of the first (w/ the Patriots) and select Garapolo. I sure hope not. Like really really really hope not. You might be the worst poster on these boards. ![]()

Quote:I sure hope not. Like really really really hope not. The Clowney bit would be great, but Garroppolo isn't worth taking until the 3rd, IMO, and then only if we trade down in that round. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Picking a project like Garapollo in the first is one of the dumber things we could do. He will be there in the 3-4th round easily.
I'd prefer Mack over any defensive player in the draft. Versatility is a big plus with me.
Jadeveon Clowney: Work ethic criticism was like 'spit in the face' http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000...n-the-face We show less advertisements to registered users. Clowney was getting this criticism during the season and never responded on the field. I honestly don't think he has the mental make up to live up to his potential. It seems like we have been burnt too many times by using our first rd. picks on players with all the physical tools but lacking the mental make up to succeed. I think it will take a slide in the draft for him to be successful. He needs a chip on his shoulder. I don't think his attitude or work ethic will ever change if people keep handing him things on a silver platter which drafting him high would basically be doing. I mean, why would he change? He will have basically already gotten what he wanted without putting in the effort. No need to put in any effort after that.

Guess who's starting to sink?
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000...-no-3-pick Yup. Nobody wants a slacker. Some times the spit in your eye is criticism justly deserved. Clowney is a legend in his own mind and yours. For just one play in a bowl game versus Michigan. Clowney is a lot more like the Mighty Casey than a steam tractor.

Quote:Guess who's starting to sink? You're trying too hard Quote:I suppose averaging 8 sacks a year over 3 years, including a 13 sack season his sophomore year is the same as 1 play vs. Michigan. Well... depends on your point of view I guess.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say! Quote:Talk is cheap. Actions, or in this case lack of actions, speak louder than words. Odd. He put in enough work to muster 8 sacks as a freshman in the SEC. He put in enough work to show a 5 sack improvement in the same conference the next year, notching 13 sacks. But he has one down year after getting a LOT of attention from opposing offenses, and he doesn't work at all?!? Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:Well... depends on your point of view I guess. I guess...but then what about the 9 forced fumbles?!? http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/play...ney-1.html Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Keep in mind, that 47 TFL was over a 3 year career-with the last one being a down year-one in which he allegedly did no work. To put this in perspective, check out Alualu's numbers over his four year college career in an inferior conference-based upon most here. http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/play...alu-1.html Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:You're trying too hardClowney's not trying enough. I told you he was going to sink. Once the REAL pro scouts got interested, Clowney was exposed. Top ten? Maybe. All-time? Don't make me laugh. First NFL check and it's over. Hip flexors galore. Derrick Harvey 2.0 Cheetahs can't go all out for very long. The under-sized heart prevents them. They just quit running, lay down in the grass, and pine away about the missed gazelle. Offensive linemen in the NFL are elephants. Big and powerful. Clowney will be a squish between their toes.
