LOL Trevor doesn't always take the short stuff given him because he looks deep too often at times and by the time he checks down he's under pressure or the route is covered, but that has nothing to do with play calling and is about the hero ball aspect of our starting QB. He needs to learn how to reel that in. Watching folks try to put a better game against a bad opponent on "changed play calls" when nothing changed is comical. All the Jags did differently was stick to the run a bit more instead of giving up on it - because they knew their opponent was bad enough to let them pull it off - and ETN still had to battle through tackles at the LOS all day.

All I know was watching the game today, CJ had more time than Trevor has had in weeks. And the couple broken plays/scrambles where CJ went down, Trevor would have had better success.
Also, we had a decent run game, though we did force feed it which we should probably continue doing. Cam is definitely our best LT, just sucks his cap hit is so high
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

He's also below average when it comes to ball security because of...hero ballitis. If Trevor can play within himself and not turn the ball over this team can beat most teams in this league. Not the teams with good defensive lines mind you...but teams that are borderline good. To keep this thread on topic. The Jags are still 3 interior offensive linemen away from being a good offense. Trevor needs to play with confidence in his Oline. He currently doesn't.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude. Next season I want him gone.
I really liked how Cam came to the defense of Strnge. IMO that is the way the game is meant to be played.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023. Whether it is play calls or the game plan, coaching has to change to say take the open stuff underneath first instead of looking deep first. Once they start dropping LBs in coverage, giving the OL time to block, look deep. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk

Beathard just dosen't make the easy plays look difficult like T law does at times. He played effecient. I don't understand why some fans think Trevor was elite last year vs this year. He had 3-4 really good games in that stretch that started against the Raiders, but he played very average in a few of those wins aswell. His stats this year vs last are nearly identical, except a few more ints. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I don't think Cam goes anywhere this offseason. Our tackles are set for next year and we have a really good swing tackle. Cam is the only lineman we have with that nasty and and physical edge to him. Hea a vocal leader as well
Yea, was hoping we might move on from Cam from his high cap, but you gotta keep him at this rate. He’s the only nasty o-lineman we’ve got. Players really respond to him too.

Agreed, however, our rookie RT is beginning to develop a bit of a nasty streak too. Now we just need to do as good a job drafting 2 guards and a center in this year's draft.

Between the PED suspension and the injury he's missed half the year. Which has hurt the team overall. And it's about the $19M cap hit he costs you at the moment. He's good, not elite. I think the front office has to entertain restructuring his contract. We put too much stock in Walker Little improving. He didn't. His durability is also an issue. Tough sledding going into March but they have no choice but to address it. It cannot go untouched or minimally patched up like it was in 2023. I think a few things need to happen personally. 1. An added layer above Baalke's head needs to be in the front office to finalize personnel decisions and draft decisions. 2. A serious conversation needs to take place between Doug, Phil and Press and may result in Phil being dismissed. 3. If they do come back collectively? They may need to rethink, retool and restructure the way they're approaching the running game. I am being fair here. As I feel it's too easy to pin the blame on Baalke for all of this when the coaches have to provide some insight and they sign off on these positions at some point in the process. It's a collective failure and they all need to collectivey wear that five egg mess on their faces. If Cam isn’t back we likely have to fill 3 starter positions in the offseason.
Fortner & Scherff are likely outta here We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! CJ is taking shorter passes over the middle and then going deeper once in a while. No. Not like TL normally does. When was the last time you saw TL throw deep to a fly route WR? LOL Naw, man you don't know what you're looking at. The Slinger did good because the game plan was simple. But in addition, the game plan was also more like last years. We had Crossing routes. We targeted Engram in the middle. We didn't rely on WR outs routes. This was a better game plan. The ETN run was a RB Toss SWEEP for god's sake. When was the last time you saw a RB Toss Sweep this entire freaking year? So the play calling today was clearly better. But that does not change the fact that the play calling for the last 15 games wasn't total trash. Oh, and still. The red zone offense is still awefull. But I'm sure this board will ignore that. We were inside the 20 3 different times and only got 9 points. WOOT! Thank good for our OC!!! He's so great!!! We beat a 2 win football team. I'm happy for the win. But let's not pretend that this was some vindication of this coaching staff. (12-31-2023, 09:34 PM)MojoKing Wrote: If Cam isn’t back we likely have to fill 3 starter positions in the offseason. These 2 are the worst. They have to be replaced. And then we have to figure out whether Walker Little is worth playing. Dude is soft as chalk. Chalker Little. And how does Shatley have a job still? I mentioned this in the Game Thread, but the entire O-Line besides Cam and Harrison have regressed. Is that not on the coaches??? If you don't want to blame Doug or Press, can we at least admit that the O-Line coach needs to get fired? This line is an abomonation. And then we just keep running the same plays that expose how bad the O-Line is. It's beyond insanity.
Awesome to have Cam back. He’s our best lineman.
We need to keep him. We’re 7-1 with him this year. Coincidence? Yes probably - but maybe there’s something to that.
