I really don’t think there’s anything redeemable about Fortner. I’d just cut him, regardless of him being on a rookie deal.
Centre is probably the #1 position need this offseason.

We already knew Fortner was a liability.
It doesn't matter if Doug and Press overlook his shortcomings. Hell, having a good center is imperative to protecting the QB, yet all we hear about are OTs. Once Trevor stopped trusting his offensive line his decision making got worse. FIX THE OFFENSIVE LINE.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude. Next season I want him gone. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Unfortunately, the man who makes the decisions to fix it doesn't seem as keen to the issue. At least so far. My guess is it will be his priority this offseason. Better late than never.

The team somehow managed to win 9 games with one of the worst offensive lines I've ever seen and a so so defense. I just hope Baalke is gone soon so that a real GM can come in and start the process moving toward the draft. Khan should have Spielman on the phone right now, if not hours ago.

Well, now that the Jag's season has ended, I'll let you know that my one guy has a very good chance of taking snaps in the Super Bowl as a backup linemen for the 49ers. It looks like the 49ers are investing in Bartch's strengths.
Meanwhile, Jags fans are left wondering how much money they should drop on TL to be a below-average QB but above-average choker. Hardest hit: sycophantic, blind to all reality, horribly defensive moderators. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

He has his flaws but that is not one of them. I still believe in TLaw he was banged up all year, I firmly believe this entire draft should be tackles, guards and DTs
Yeah get some beef on this team. Look at the bills dolphins last night. Allen threw some horrible picks, but the defense still held a great offense to 14.

Taylor calls the plays from a playbook built with Pederson as the architect and Taylor merely offering input. They have plenty of up the middle runs - as evidenced by 39 pages of fans whining about it last year and early this season. They got away from it this year because our center and LG have been completely incompetent. They probably still ran there 25% of the time this year. MojoKing is right. A competent run game behind a functional power gap blocking line would have altered our season significantly. I hope Doug is feeling the same way. We show less advertisements to registered users. Running up the middle isn't something we do under a Press Taylor offensive scheme It just never happened. I think the running game has to have a culture shock over the next few months. New system. New approach. New philosophy. New mentality. I think you can accomplish this without lining up everybody on the coaching staff out back and shooting them. I would look at Arthur Smith, offer him a run game coordinator and offensive lineman coach position for a year or two and see what happens. I think you could move on from Rauscher and improve the quality to some extent by doing this. What more do you have to lose? Other than more yards and crucial goal-to-go situations? I watched the replay of the GB/Bears game from week 1 on Saturday. One play just made me green with envy. The Packer center and right guard took the DT, DE, and Will and just bent them back to the outside, peeled them like an onion. The LG picked up the Mike and Aaron Jones went untouched for about 4 yards, broke a safety tackle attempt and gained 18 on the carry. I get to watch my center get knocked flat on his back on a QB sneak and my RB break multiple tackles behind the LOS every time he carries it.
