So your saying is that Doug Pederson is a moron and decided to sit the better player, or better yet move the better player at a different position because of Cams contract? So the other player could be at a disadvange because of Cam? How does that even make sense.... Honestly you need to take a break from here and stop posting. You are easily the most clueless fan when it comes to talking about O-line & QB play.
They had a $16 million dollar guy who could only play left tackle. That he and Little are comparable but Little had flexibility to try other spots warranted some attempt to have them both on the field to fix two spots. I'm on record that I would've voided Robinsons deal when he got suspended, cut him and signed a vet FA guard to fill the spot. Little and Risner on the line week 1 would've given us an entirely different line this season. But you do you hoss.

So in a way our coach did players no favor by moving them around because of 1 players contract. Let that sink in for a second and tell yourself, DOES THAT SOUND GOOD IN YOUR HEAD? If thats the case, Doug shouldn't even be an NFL head coach. Players with big contracts given them by the ruling regime get every chance to ruin it before being supplanted. That's on every damn team in the league. They all do this. Cam was given too much leeway IMO - but that's normal. 2. And more importantly - if Little and Cam were viewed as 2 of the better linemen they are going to try and find a way to get "the best 5 on the field" There's a reason you see that quotation ^ used by coaches everywhere. It is a tried and true practice. Cam can only play one spot - and Little was thought to have range to move to guard - so they tried it. It totally [BLEEP] failed but they tried what most other coaching staffs would have tried in order to field the best line they could with what was available. 3. If Doug is dumb about anything in all of this it was doubling down on a bad 2022 line and doubling down on a finesse run scheme - leaving himself short of players who can just beat the guy across from them for a yard when they need it. 4. Cam was supposed to be one of the few guys on our line that was good at this ^ in the run game. Turned out he wasn't much better than any of them. We show less advertisements to registered users. Regardless of what a player is making, if the next player is better at his position he loses his job, no where in an NFL contract does it state that players making more than the next can't lose their jobs. So ONLY two things could be true here: Little wasn't talented enough to beat Cam at his job, OR two Doug thought Little was better suited at Guard. OR that he didn't have anyone else better playing G (which its hard to agree since Little was [BLEEP]) Obviously, Little was horrible at G so Doug wasn't doing players any favor playing them in positions where they werent successful, which against goes to my original comment if Little was better than Cam at LT why didn't he continue to play there? If I need to elaborate for you on the way NFL teams deal with players they just extended for lots of money - I don't think you are going to understand the point anyway. But here ya go: They give them every opportunity to fail so the FO and/or HC can try to save themselves from looking stupid for paying them. You telling me you've never seen a team let a high priced player keep getting snaps over a younger ascending guy? Pollard vs Elliot 2 years ago?

Not unless the coach is a moron. So in this case Doug is a [BLEEP] moron. If thats true but it isn't. Cam is head and shoulder better than Little. Little had no business being at the guard position or even at tackle position when Cam came back
Lol.

So I was curious what OL guys would be likely cap casualties this off season for other teams. No way to predict if these guys would be cut this before FA, later on in June, or just get their contracts restructured
But would any of these guys make sense for the Jags? Given their guaranteed money would already be paid for, it could be a better way to use up the later round picks that Baalke apparently can't hit on anyways. C Ryan Jensen C Mason Cole C Bradley Bozeman C Corey Linsley C Brian Allen G Austin Corbett T Patrick Mekari T Fred Johnson

Good chance he won't be there in RD2 now if he begins testing extremely well and once the interviews start taking place there's always a good chance a team falls in love with him personality wise and football IQ wise. Baltimore selected Linderbaum 25th overall in 2022. New Orleans selected Ruiz 24th overall in 2020. Minnesota selected Bradbury 18th overall in 2019. Detroit took Ragnow with the 20th overall pick in 2018. I don't think you can rule out this kid with the 17th overall pick. It's clearly the biggest need on the roster, it's an obvious weakness we have had to stomach for two years in a row with Fortner. Unless they sign a guy up in March? I just don't think you can rule this out as a possibility. Especially if this team is serious about rebounding offensively. As much as I would like a WR there or maybe a premier RT/LT, the odds also dwindle as those guys also begin to test out at the combine and they have their interviews. I would be split between this kid, Brian Thomas Jr. at WR and Fauga at RT if they're on the board. Really just boils down to March and free agency for me. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. I want Cam back. A LOT.
But if the Jaguars could get Conner Williams (Miami) to play center for 14 million a year...BYE CAM. I'd trust Walker Little at left tackle ( he did fine until he was hurt)..keep Ezra, let Shatley play RG, draft his replacement in the 2nd round....and I'm willing to bet this offensive line would see improvement. IMO the center is the weakest part of the Oline.
The Other Jag Forum: Duval Football Fans.
Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude. Next season I want him gone.
