Notre Dame Pro Day

#1

So this is something we haven't discussed much. Bradley and Caldwell were at ND while Florida St was having their pro day as well. There's obviously a reason why they were there...

Loius Nix

Stephon Tuitt

Troy Niklas

Prince Shembo

Some pretty good players.. Possible second round picks..

I sure hope we don't select Bennett Jackson though. I've never seen him actually tackle someone. He just pushes people out of bounds.

What do you guys think?

I've been a huge Tuitt fan since last year.

Tuitt and even Shembo have a possibility of being pretty good in the NFL. Nix is pretty athletic for a big guy. Don't forget about Zack Martin. I think he's listed as a Tackle, but he can play guard too Wink

Probably Niklas and Tuitt, I know he isn't a major need but I'm a big fan of Nix

Me too.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

Probably there for the one guy you omitted...OT Zack Martin. If for some reason Matthews is taken one or two, in the trade-back Martin may make for happy landings. I don't even want to speculate about what the value is.

Too bad there's no such thing as an offensive lineman rotation in the NFL. Just a thought.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're trying to figure out what round to draft Shembo.

Not sure the others will be around or "fit" our pick where we're slotted unless they fall.

Zack Martin is intriguing, as I'd expect them to want to move him inside to RG.  I just have a tough time thinking he'd be around in the second or third.  Or at least if he's there in the second - that there wouldn't be a better player available.

From his draft profile on NFL.com:

Bottom Line
Athletic, smart, competitive, dependable college left tackle whose length dictates a move inside, where he has plug-and-play ability in a zone-blocking scheme. One of the cleanest prospects in this year’s draft.
