Poll: What is your preference when it comes to Johnny Football?
Hope he falls to #3 and then sprint to the podium to select Manziel.
Trade up with Houston and select Manziel.
Don't want Manziel.

General Consensus on Johnny Football

Quote:I hope he decides not to attend the green room, I don't think he goes in round one.

But the drama (queening) at the end of the round when he's still in there? Must See Tee Vee.

Will it be better than this?

After the most impressive Pro Day in the history of mankind I expect JFF to go no lower than #1 overall.  Jags will have to trade up to land him now.

You're making Gene Smith look like the best GM ever to walk the face of the earth here. Thanks for the laughs.

After today, we might have to do a re-vote.  I'm betting everyone that voted against Johnny would like to change their votes in favor of him now.

Let's recap.  Indoors, dry field, no wind or footing issues, no defense on the receivers and no pass rush, no game pressure or crowd noise to deal with, no defense to read or blitz to pick up.

Take a Valium and relax, he'll still be there at 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th........

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

It was fairly obvious you're not much of a talent scout, now we know you're not much of a gambler either.

You lose the bet; I still don't want him.

If he can't put the ball on the numbers in those conditions how can you expect him to perform when it's the real thing?

I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him, but not at #3 (ditto any QB in this class.)

Lol. Yup, that would be fantastic. But, never gonna happen now. He might not go super early, but he's gonna get picked up in the 1st. If he slips down into the 20ish range, surely a team like the Bengals, Cardinals will scoop him up. Right? Heck, maybe even the Broncos might pick him to sit behind Peyton for 1-2 years.

Couldn't agree more!  I wouldn't take any QB in the top 5 picks, maybe 6.  Manziel not until late 1st round at the earliest.  Way too many question marks in my mind.  Run and make something happen isn't going to work for him in the NFL like it did in college

Why is this a common misconception?

Quote:When Manziel threw from the pocket, he complete 73.6% of his passes for 3,429 yards, 9.95 ypa and 27 TDs.  Can Manziel scramble and hurt you with his feet?  Absolutely, but to assume that his passing game primarily revolved around scrambling and making passing outside the pocket would be a mistake.

Media hype.  It's almost all they talk about and show.  His effectiveness from the pocket is predicated on his ability to make a big play with his feet outside of the pocket.
