MJD a Raider
|
I think that's unfair. The guy was injured for almost the entire of the 2012 season and still managed 4.8ypc when he did play.
Sure last year wasn't so good but the entire team was awful for the first 8 games and he was still running hard. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Until the last 2 years. He got heavy, slow, and selfish. It was time for him to go. Wish him luck though. I disagree. I think our overall offensive problems last year caused most of his drop in production. Not that I would have re-signed him, but I don't blame him for what happened to his production last year. Quote:Maurice will have a good season this year. Bank on it. He still has something left.Okay, Bklyn. We'll take that to the bank since you're saying it will happen. MJD played most of last season overweight. He looked slow and sluggish at times. I think that's a primary reason why the Jaguars were less than aggressive in keeping him around. He'll go home to Cali and he'll fade away into the twilight of his career. He might have "something" left, but he's running on fumes. Too much mileage on those legs, and the injuries have been adding up over the past few years. I've always been an MJD fan, but the guy hasn't been running away from anyone for a few years now. Even in the season where he won the rushing title, it was one of the lowest numbers ever registered for that honor in recent years. He brought Jaguar fans a lot of fond memories, and he'll always be appreciated for that. But, the last couple of seasons have shown what happens when you're used like a work horse and expected to carry the offense for year after year. Couple that with the style of back he is where he seeks out contact, and that pounding does nothing to prolong his career. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I blame it on all the carries he's had during his career in Jacksonville. 1800+ carries doesn't scream rebound in Oakland. The Lisfranc injury, and the knee injury that required microfracture surgery are a good indication those wheels are winding down. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

He'll be a solid alternative, but he's not going to blow anyone up at this point in his career. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Why is Oakland signing Mojo when they already resigned McFaddon? I think it's a good fit for them, but signing an aging running back over drafting a young stud seems less positive in the long long. Anyways, good luck to Maurice.

This was a rhetorical question, right? Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Hope they paid him enough to make up for how he's going to get raped now in state taxes...

Oakland had a multitude of salary cap space going into this off-season. The Raiders are giving the impression that they are using their salary cap space for no purposes other than putting together a team that would have been great in 2010 and for the sake of having to use their salary cap for the purposes of compliing with the NFL CBA. I can't recall a team using their salary cap space as foolishly as the Raiders have been using their cap space this off-season. Even if the players they have been signing have a relatively good season, most won't have much future value. Also, they are in a division with 3 teams that made the playoffs in 2013. With Denver going for broke in the next season or two. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
