2024 - NFL Draft - Wish List
|
Sportskeeda is uniquely different than what I see big board wise from Pro Football Network. I don't really fool around with Pro Football Focus, because you have to pay to use the full round simulator. But, I ran this one on Sportskeeda and found it pretty good overall:
17th - Brian Thomas Jr. - WR 48th - Graham Barton - OG 96th - Nehemiah Prtichett - CB 114th - Ricky Pearsall - WR 116th - Braden Fiske - DT 153rd - Tanor Bortolini - C 212th - Justin Rogers - NT 236th - Mohamed Kamara - EDGE Just seems like an overall, perfect draft scenario. With no trades at all. All of these players offer immediate impact and immediate rotation to the line-up. Brian Thomas Jr. is your official WR1 on the outside. Graham Barton can play LT, G or C. Pick your position of need there early and insert him into the line-up to contribute right away or challenge right away for a job. Nehemiah Pritchett is an underrated man-to-man quality CB. Getting Ricky Pearsall with his ability outside of the top 100 feels criminal. Same goes for Braden Fiske with the 116th pick. Bortolini was a carbon copy of Jason Kelce RAS wise. He can play Center for sure, maybe Guard if needed. At the minimum, he's pushing for Fortner's back-up job and potential heir to Morse in 2025 or 2026. Rogers is an absolute whopper at NT and will be exactly what we need to spell Hamilton in the rotation and will command double teams more than likely. Kamara is coming off a really good pass rushing season and should challenge for a 3rd or 4th roster spot on the team immediately to get into the rotation. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? No way does Pearsall drop that far. He is actually climbing up draft boards.

My wish list. This is hard to do using player names because the only info I have is talking heads and stats while playing against less competition. say what you will, college is lesser competition people. Also not actually knowing the guy personally and our new defensive system it is an environment for being way off. There are really only 4 spots (2 on offense and 2 on defense) we need the draftees to make big contributions from where I sit. This is actually an improvement over past years.
On offense we set our "veteran line" in the free agent market. They have the ability to be a middle of the league offensive line for us if they can stay healthy. I believe the odds of them all staying healthy is pretty slim. We have backups for one tackle, a guard and center. We have to acquire another back up tackle and guard. They will during the season be called on to contribute. The level they do will impact our success. The offensive line is the one place where the group must play together as one unit the most IMO. We have the QB's, TE's, RB's and WR's we need to be successful. On defense We have a plethora of 250-299lb players playing the IDL. We have only one wide body NT, we need a 320+ lb backup for him in the worst way. We do not need any more 280lb on the IDL. Fortunately, we added two defensive backs with 4.3 speed to our backfield. If you put them with what we already have there is one spot for a backup CB. Yea, I said backup. We have the edge guys, light IDL players, LB's. to be successful. Would it be nice to have a high pick WR or edge ? Sure, but let's not get distracted by shiny objects and forget the pain of last year. Last year when both our D-line and O-line got their butts beaten. Then at the end of the year when the guys were worn down we faded. A lot of you were screaming about these lines. Now if we put off getting these players to the later rounds the quality will suffer. Is that what you want? My wish is for quality picks of a Tackle, Guard, IDL and CB. Everything else is a nice to have.

He's considered a top 4 - 5 receiver in this class and he'll more than likely be one of the 4 to 6 receivers drafted in RD1 in a few weeks. Too many WR needy teams on the opening night of the draft as well. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. Quinyon Mitchell Jared Verse Olu Fashanu Brian Thomas Jr. Players I'd be good with: Byron Murphy Johnny Newton J.P.J. Taliese Fuaga Troy Fautanu Lalatu Latu Nate Wiggins Terrian Arnold Cooper DeJean Players I'd pass on: Amarius Mims J.C. Latham Nabers, Odunze and Bowers not listed due to unavailability. Would only trade up if get to keep 2nd round pick.

I don't think we will see to many more 3-4 fronts with Nielsen. If they feel Latu can play with his hand in the dirt just as well as standing up on the edge he night be edge 1 for me but I haven't seen it. Why are you not as high on Fuaga as you were a few weeks back? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! However, I believe his skill set will enable him to be very effective as a pass rusher regardless of the scheme. He is, in my opinion, clearly the best pass rusher in this class capable of double-digit sacks as early as his rookie season. The only reason he does not make my "feel great about" list is his previous injury which almost ended his NFL career before it even started. The Jaguars can't afford to miss on their 1st pick and he is definitely more risky than the 4 players who made that group.(04-05-2024, 09:23 PM)jaglou53 Wrote: Players I'd be great with at 17: My opinion about Taliese Fuaga has not changed. I believe he will be a great pro who will be elite as a run blocker, either at tackle or guard. If the Jaguars suddenly decide to trade Cam Robinson prior to the draft, Fuaga would then move to the top group. It may seem contradictory that Fashanu did make the "great" list since the Jaguars currently have Robinson and Harrison starting at left and right tackle respectively. The reason is that Fashanu has basically everything it takes to eventually become the best left tackle in the NFL. Despite being a very effective college player who would have been selected in the top 10 picks last draft, he has only scratched the surface of what he is capable of once he gains some experience in the NFL. He is only 21 years old and still can get much better as a run blocker while continuing to be elite at pass protection. Kevin Hardy was a very good linebacker for the Jaguars, but selecting him ahead of Jonathan Ogden was a mistake- even though Boselli and Searcy were entrenched at the tackle positions. The possibility of Fashanu dropping to pick 17 is much greater than it was when the draft "season" began. While still unlikely, you don't pass on a talent like that if he falls to you. Brian Thomas is actually someone I have gotten higher on. Like Fashanu, he is freakish at 6'3" running a 4.33 40 yard dash. He also has much room for growth when it comes to expanding his route running tree, but the potential to be a legitimate #1 receiver is definitely strong. He would likely be number 3 on my Big Board ahead of Verse. Fashanu and Mitchell will likely be my top 2, but I'm not sure in what order. Mitchell's only negative is level of competition, but he appears to have no weaknesses and plays a position that the Jaguars need to improve if they are to successfully compete with the Texans and their revamped passing game.
Our pick # 17 arrives. The following players are still on the board. Who do you select? or do you trade back?
Nate Wiggins CB Cooper DeJean - CB Kool-aid McKinstry - CB Brock Bowers - TE Byron Murphy II - IDL Amarius Mims - OT Jackson Powers-Johnson - IOL Graham Barton - IOL Jared Verse - Edge AD Mitchell - WR
