guy might wind up an out & out bust. Small school inferior competition. Could be another Larry Hart. Built just like him.

what what? He's 6' 3", 248 and was timed @ 4.7. People are drooling over this player as if he's a legit alternative to Clowney. He isn't. One is a legit pass rushing DE that at least physically will hold up in the NFL. The other is a guy who I see will be far less effective in the NFL than he was in his small school college.

just.

wow...

Mack might have a few inches height on Hart, but otherwise they are similar build and weight.

whats the "wow"?

The wow I guess will be when Mack disappoints in the NFL based on the apparent recent hype train.

yep just like other LB of his size and draft position over the last 5 years Curry, McClain....now Mack.....

and people like you had the same reaction when some suggested those players would disappoint in the NFL and were being overhyped as well.

I mean the guy had one season where he reaches double digit QB sacks vs that competition and now its a sacrilege to suggest the hype is getting a bit carried away?

Maybe saying out and out bust is laying it on a little thick, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if he's just "a guy" in the NFL. Nowhere near worth where he'll be drafted.

Whats so special about him physically? Nothing. Yeah, he has a great motor, but so do a lot of players.

Other than Mack being 3 inches taller, they are practically twins.

Jadaveon Clowney is the same size and conference as Jamaal Anderson and Jarvis Moss. Clowney will bust.

But Clowney actually has freakish athleticism for his size. Very good speed for his size too.

Mack has nothing outstanding physically about him. He's being hyped off of a great motor that he used to play well vs lesser competition at small school college. How far will the great motor take him in big boy league without anything outstanding physically?

Mack might be worth drafting at 10-15. At 3? I don't think so.

You have got to take a player that is gifted at something at a pick that high.

i.e. Bridgewater it would be his command of the position/ football intelligence, with Robinson it would be his ability to dominate from the position with his massive size/ strength, with Watkins, its his speed,,,etc etc.

They aren't even close in appearance.  If you bothered actually watching players rather than keeping your nose solely in the stat sheets like a typical fantasy footballer, you'd immediately have spotted your ridiculous mistake.

Hart was built more like a lighter Dwight Freeney or a tall MJD.  All thighs.

Mack is certainly not so dis-proportioned and not so short.

If you've actually seen any of these players, you wouldn't have had to be told.

Asinine...

I'm not even that high on Clowney, but if the choice is between him and Mack at 3, its not even a discussion who I'm taking.

Its just the typical "underdog" mentality that has this board all liking Mack..and will all be making excuses when he is fairly average at the next level. What's he going to lean on at the next level to make him stand out? That 4.7/ 4.8 speed?? lol Kearse was practically a 4.4. guy. Size? lol, I guess since Mathis can do it, he can, right? right? The exceptions are the rule around here. As said....if we want to take Mack further back in the 1st round, then fine....but it would be foolish to take a player like that as high as 3.

He's never run a 4.8. You are just making stuff up.

That's much more applicable to Bridgewater than Mack.

An "oops, my bad" would suffice and put it to bed.  Instead, the ego won't allow anything like that.

Disagree. Bridgewater has a very good chance to be very good at the most important position in football.

Mack, IMO, will likely be average to good as either a LB or DE in the NFL. That would be taking pick 3 and flushing it, if we took him there. Would be similar to Gene taking Alualu at 11 that year.

lol who cares??? He's worn gloves for 99% of his college career, and will in the NFL.
