We have an actual NFL program in place for the first time in decades with relative good front office decisions being made and actual player development going on and we want to flush it away if we don't win 10+ games this season? LOL
Well, fortunately I don't think we're going to get to see that level of ignorance from our fanbase this year as, barring an injury to Trevor, I'm pretty confident we'll get to 10+ wins

Anton is very good and Morse will be good as well. The guard spots are so iffy and Scherff is old with no backup plan. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

However, just like he has done in the past, he can’t seem to figure out value in rounds 2/3. Frazier on the board and he takes Maason Smith. I hope the IOL holds up because, as this TC has shown, if Trevor has time….. BTJ gonna fly.
I know teams do a mix of both but this is what good talent based drafting does. Everyone knows we need IOL but if Maason Smith is an elite talent defender no one doesn't need that. Obviously it's wait and see how it pans out but reaching for lesser players to fill needs isn't the right play.

I don't know that Maason Smith won't end up being a great pick. I'm more ticked that we keep taking guys where we are already overloaded with acceptable drafted talent AND where we've signed free agents. We've taken 6 CBs the last three years along with 3 RBs. I find it hard to believe that we wouldn't be better off today if he'd taken a couple linemen in those spots than the guys they're going to cut next week. There's no reason that we're picking from guys like Hance, CVL, and Williams after 3 years while cutting Conner and soon to be gone guys like Hallett, Prince, Keilan Robinson, and maybe even Devon Duvernay other than obstinance. A guard who is a lesser talent than Keilan Robinson but a greater talent than Blake Hance isn't reaching nor all that hard to find in the 5th round. It's making all your positions groups better by making modest improvements instead of none at all. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Amazing discussion.
My two cents. We have for the first time in many years an actual front office that is doing a decent job. No way do we need to change that. Sometimes the devil you know is much better than the devil you do not know. I see very little value in making changes and a lot of risk. The talent level of this year's team is light years better than January 2021 when Baalkie was first hired. It has also increased with the addition of Doug being added to the team. Yea we need to mess with that. YEARIGHTSURE I am pretty satisfied with every position group except the offensive line this year. Facts appear to be at present they can be very young solid playoff level groups if they continue to develop. The offensive line is our weakness, the price of the other groups being what they are today. The offensive line is an older patchwork of questionable veteran players acquired using little draft capital. (except Harrison our RT) This year behind that group of veterans we have a number of players all with the physical metrics to be successful. I watched last night and in spurts quite a few of them have what it takes and do well. Consistency is the issue with them at present. Actually, as the game wore on and they got more reps I saw improvement except a period of time in the 3rd quarter where they got thrown curveballs by the Buc's defense. After a "meeting" on the sidelines they began to adjust to it. There are a few that are CRD's and my hope is we do not allow them on the roster this year as we did last year. (CRD=Consistent Rag Dolls) You guys should remember I was the nut case that wanted to keep only Cam, Little and Harrison and kick every other lineman under contract to the curb. We will have two 3rd's and 4th's next year so any young help is at least year away. That is unless Baalkie has some magic left in his bag this year.
A new broom always sweeps clean.
I'm still predicting that after final cuts, a center or guard cut from another team will end up on our 54 man roster on opening day. Most likely a backup.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

This is pretty much where I'm at. ^ The team looks good outside of the OL, assuming the new secondary takes shape as we hope. That's still a bit of a question mark for me, but there is competitive depth there for the first time in a long time if the assumed starters flourish in this scheme after acclimating. So we basically have three or four kernels of hope for the OL:
I don't think this OL is going to hold the offense back to the degree last year's did. How much better they actually are is still anyone's guess.
