Get Off The Bridgewater Bandwagon

#1

I totally understand why people want Teddy Bridgewater: He is a quarterback, we need a quarterback, and many people expect us to get the top pick by defeault next year. But there is something Bridgewater fans are either forgetting or choosing not to think about: No member of the Jaguars ever said anything about him yet because all they're interested now is trying to win every week, so we have no idea if they like him or not. At least not publicly, and not anyone who will meet him in Indianapolis and Louisville. I do think we will take a long hard look at him and he will be high on our favorites list during the scouting process, but wish everybody would stop assuming we want him long before our first conversation with him. That makes absolutely no sense at all. You all need to stop acting like we already know the Jaguars will draft him in May because not a single Jaguar even knows if he would be a good fit for Gus Bradley's offense yet. You don't know if Bridgewater is exactly the kind of quarterback we need before they do and that is what matters most, not the media saying he deserves to be the top pick.

1) He is basically the unanimous best QB in the nation. Many think he's in a tier by himself.

2) Teddy was suppose to be playing for Jedd Fisch. And Louisville ran an almost identical offense to our own.

Would you have told Colts fans the same thing about Andrew Luck before January 2012?

So... instead of looking to the future and wanting to sign a player we like, we should... mope.  Or go find another team to root for I guess.  At this point, nothing to feel good about this season except for the draft.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Sometimes, individuals decide whether they like someone completely independently of whether the Jaguars have told them to.  I know some members of the board think otherwise, but it's really true.

So, basically, don't root for anyone to join our team until they join our team?

You're insane if you don't think Dave is and has been looking at Teddy for awhile now.

Don't compare apples and oranges. That year, it was either him or Robert Griffin, not him or a defensive end.

AKA Bridgewater is a lock to go first overall. I agree.

But seriously, what does that have to do with your original post? You can say the same thing for Clowney or any available prospect.

What does that have to do with anything?

Teddy Bridgewater is the best QB in College Football. We are picking #1 in the 2014 draft. We are choosing a Quarterback. Pretty simple concept if you ask me.

Ahhh that's a whole new angle that no one has thought of. Clowney for QB?

Well Stephen Morris actually did run Fisch's offense and he was one of the reasons it was so successful.

Why don't compare Apples and Oranges?  They're both fruits, they're perfectly comparable objects.  You can measure both with a ruler.  You can even measure them in a cup.  Both make juices.  Both have different varieties as well.  You can compare their textures, their taste, their acidity.  Apples and oranges are easy to compare, and make for an important comparison when deciding which fruit you would like to eat.
