On To The Bills
|
Not sure what to expect a week from now with this game. It will probably be physical, maybe a close contest. As that's been the tendency between our two teams the past few years. For us to win, I think it comes down to the following:
1. BTJ needs more targets, a lot more. I think 8 targets needs to be the new norm moving forward, that's just 2 targets per quarter. Figure it out. Give him a deep shot route on a play action concept at least 2x, give him a few quick hitters to see if he can use his speed to separate and create some much needed YAC. 2. Get away, literally, RUN THE [BLEEP] away from running the football on downs that consist of 1 - 3 yards. It's not [BLEEP] working. It's not. Time to get more creative there. Time to figure out some new concepts. Maybe use more Strange with Engram in twin TE sets there if he's healthy after the hamstring issue on gameday. Maybe use more bootlegs, RPO's and QB sprints with layered concepts to one side of the field to give Lawrence some easier options. 3. Keep Allen in the pocket on defense. Allen is the most dangerous QB when you let him outside the pocket and you let him get his legs going, he's capable of taking over any drive at any point in the game if you let him and he's chirpy and doesn't backdown. You have to match his energy, his tenacity and you above all, must make him PAY for running with the football. You cannot let him be Superman. Your front seven MUST deliver the kryptonite in these situations with him. 4. Don't give into the obvious narrative. This shouldn't be Gabe Davis Vs. his old team. It's corny, it's cheesy. Use that to your advantage. Use that in your play design. Don't send him deep. Stack him and have him block downfield with screens designed to BTJ, Kirk, etc. Then maybe wait for a rope-a-dope moment and get one good shot in there to him later on. Build it up. Put it in the script, just don't make it too obvious. Lull them into thinking we're the same old Jags. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? bills 68 LOSEVILLE!!!!!!!!!! -44 the medeia starts to tlk about jags being first team in nfl history to go 0-17. this team is playing like 0-17 team. even the qb said we suck.
snowwolf titans owner in madden. note titans owner means im undeafted againest them.
Pretty cool to have a must win game in week 3.
Even cooler when you gotta team with no punch to em. The boys need to be angry, and keep that anger every damn down. There's no aggression in this team. They are the awkward teenager afraid to ask that girl to the dance. No spine, No assertion, No results. I want nothing more than for us to obliterate the Bills, but I don't see it happening.
We’ll once again lose on prime time but embarrassingly and ensure we return to getting a pity TNF from here on out.
So, we are all pretty down which means one thing. Here comes the win that raises everyone’s hopes and dreams. Everyone sucked right back in. Then onto the Texans where we lose by 20. This song has been on repeat for a decade +.

As frustrating as it's been so far? Going back to last year's collapse? Keep the faith. No matter what. It's a long season, it's a marathon, not a sprint (although I wouldn't mind seeing more sprints out of Lawrence or designed QB sprints and bootlegs to buy more time for big plays downfield in the passing game), if it's anything we've learned from the first two years with Doug Pederson. It's this.
They're streaky. Streaky in a good way at times. Streaky in a bad way at times. This is what they do under Doug. They start off cold, get hot. They start off hot, get cold. This year, it'll be starting off cold, probably really cold, and then, maybe, just maybe, they'll get RED [BLEEP] HOT and sneak up on some teams. It'll be alright. To the fans out there. You're going to be alright. The team just stumbled over a stone in the road. It means nothing. Their goal lies far beyond this, doesn't it? I'm sure they'll overcome this. They'll walk again...soon. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. I'll be at this game. I was hoping to come in there after a win and a good feeling. Luckily we usually play Buffalo well, even the Urban year we beat them.
Let the turnaround start Monday!
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

They lost by 3 points to the Dolphins that came down to the wire and they lost by 5 points yesterday with a chance to also come back and win it. We're not the Panthers here. We're a middling team that manages to stay competitive enough but not quite yet competent enough to pull out a win. We also have a tendency to play the Bills relatively well pound for pound and have had their number over the last four years. This game could go either way. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. Well - the Jags offense will be having to face their demons this week preparing for a tough road match-up.
The OL has found new ways to suck, the execution from the front 5, the QB, the backs, the receivers, everyone has to improve pretty radically. And as much as I think the blame falls overwhelmingly to the players making mistakes or just being outplayed, the play-calling is a bit too conservative at times. Unfortunately though, we are back to that place we were in last year where we could get Trevor maimed by taking too many downfield shots since the protection is so horrendous. They'll have to find a way. An 0-3 start is very plausible right now and even though the schedule gets easier in Oct/Nov, no one wants to be digging themselves out of that kind of hole. Very curious to see how the players and the staff respond to the offensive incompetence. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! "We just need to execute better." They don't have answers which is the worst part. They don't know what they want to be. They played 2 good quarters against the Fins. They played 1 good quarter against the Browns. They have been dreadful in the redzone once again. The coaching staff knew the issues going into the offseason and did nothing. The GM knew the places that needed to be upgraded but instead, whiffed once again with Cleveland being soft and drafting more IDL (yay!) instead of IOL. Although it's 2 games into this current season, the exact same things have been happening the last 8 games overall. It's frustrating. As that's been the tendency between our two teams the past few years. For us to win, I think it comes down to the following: Nice points. I’d like to highlight your #2 point. This is all on the play caller. What’s crazy is Press played QB in JUCO and won back to back championships, so he knows the pocket needs to move, or the QB needs to be running ‘move’ plays to neutralize the blitz. Against the Browns, it got so bad against the blitz because our backs just couldn’t block it, they had to bring in Luke Farrell who actually did an excellent job. It just crippled the offense because now you’re using a skill position to block, which allows the defense to have a rover lurking and this causes Trevor to have to hold the football longer since he is also having to read disguised coverage after the snap. All of this can be dealt with with bunch formations, trips, twins, stacked, motion….which will change the defenses presnap look. Also a run game is needed. Etienne needs to have a 20 carry and 125+ and 2 TD type of night. They gotta do something to get the running game going. Ezra Cleveland and Mitch Morse gotta be better. Screen passes will also help slow a defense down. I don’t think Press called 1 screen play to offset Myles Garrett. Brian Thomas definitely needs more looks. This dude has the potential to be a premier #1 in the league. We need some deep shots, some quick stuff, and some WR screens to get him more involved. Why not stack him and Kirk and put pressure on the defense with Thomas running option routes at the top of the tree and let Kirk jerk route the defense to sleep. Ain’t nobody running with Thomas stride for stride. Press Taylor: what’s this guy doing? 4th quarter with 1:48 left and we need 3 points to tie. We needed to gain about 70 yards with no timeouts. He put 2 guys on seams, Thomas ran an out and up, Davis was stacked with Kirk, Davis ran a 3 yard stop and Kirk ran a clear out fly. Which means Davis was the hot. Kirk ran a very very lazy flare to the right. It was against a 4-3 zone. The play was junk from the get go. Why not run the ball and get 5 or 6 yards, and then go hurry up and get something to the sideline with a TE matched up with a LB to about the 20 yard line and stop the clock. Now you gotta go about 50 more yards to get in FG range with about 1:00 on the clock. The defense is going to P-drop and give you the middle so get Thomas or Kirk on a 10-15 yard in spike the ball with about :40 on the 45. Now you have a shot to tie it up. Not-so-Fun Fact: Etienne is ranked 29th in rushing yards. He’s behind Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, and Jayden Daniels. Etienne has 3 more rushing yards than Anthony Richardson.
Buster Brown had really good game yesterday. That PI call was a really bad call

Why was our 2nd round pick inactive.?
We need to pass to open up the run. Not run to open up the pass. We cannot overly call short passes or the Bills will flood those areas. We need to concentrate on mid to deep passes first. To do this Trevor needs to have his scramble shoes on.
