Sometimes it's a "boondoggle" but other times it works, for instance the Americans with Disabilities Act is federally mandated but locally enforced. For the first maybe decade after it was passed, it was pre-empting and nullifying some state and local requirements. By now the state level laws have been revised to work within the framework ADA laid out. The ICC already has a standard zoning framework with common terminology and definitions and some municipalities are already revising their stuff to match it. I thought it was clear that the sentence you bolded was my opinion. My opinion is "neighborhood character preservation" is almost always BS. What is the difference between having federal oversight of zoning, versus federal oversight of handicapped accessibility? And I'm not asking for any power at all. I'm saying that a Harris administration might, with congressional approval, advise, and consent, create a department that sets up some minimum rules or an incentive/grant program with these goals. It won't involve me at all.

Over 100 Republican National Security Leaders Endorse Vice President Harris Donald Trump cannot be trusted “to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic . . . and bear true faith and allegiance to the same. We are former national security and foreign policy officials who served in the administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and/or Donald Trump, or as Republican Members of Congress. We have served in the White House, the Departments of Defense, Treasury, State, Justice, Homeland Security, Commerce, and other agencies and in Congress. We believe that the President of the United States must be a principled, serious, and steady leader who can advance and defend American security and values, strengthen our alliances, and protect our democracy. We expect to disagree with Kamala Harris on many domestic and foreign policy issues, but we believe that she possesses the essential qualities to serve as President and Donald Trump does not. We therefore support her election to be President. She will after she gets your vote and the election be the same. They call them useful fools.

People get all worked up, I do not. Most of what both are saying is outside the job of the president so I filter those things out. Taxes have to be approved by congress is an example. Problem I have with Kamela has is she has never worked for a living so has no understanding of the impact of what she is told to do. Let's face it she follows orders, the reason for the about face on policies. Trump, while he did come from the silver spoon group did have to work and has a better understanding and is better prepared. Still watching both before I decide. PS if Trump is assassinated I vote straight Republican no matter the candidate. If Kamela is assassinated I vote Democrat. This is not Venezuela

Neither would be my first choice. In fact the way the "machines" work the best choices will not run. Fact is Kamala is a puppet for someone we do not know who and Trump is not. It makes me uncomfortable voting for someone like that. Sometimes the devil you know is much better than the devil you do not know. It can also be said as sometimes a person that appears fair is actually foul and one that appears foul is actually fair. Again if you look at the records Trump wins that hands down. So a lot still to understand and watch for between now and the election.

And neither of them can really serve all of their donors at once. They will each have hard choices about whose needs to prioritize. It was always ever thus. Trump is not actually rich enough to not need donors. You have to basically choose which set of donors aligns most closely with you.

It's not commie-la's donors pulling the puppet strings (just like with Biden). It's more like Obama advisors.

Teamsters Union rank and file voted overwhelmingly (60+%) for Trump. Teamsters instead decline to endorse anyone for president. They did not endorse the Democrats for the first time in my memory.

I didn't claim to know his net worth and don't need to know it. All I know is Mr Can't-Be-Bought has had his hand out for donations since day one back in 2015. His early big time donors include the DeVos family and the Mnuchins.

Yea, many people have gotten filthy rich running for office over the years. Any money left over in the fund is theirs personally. This needs to be changed. Bernie Sanders is one I can think of.
