We are getting dominated by 3 and 4 rushers. Some of that is confusion along the OL. Some is talent. O Line did fairly well in the first half, including Cam. The second half wasn't good at all but those things could be fixed if we had a QB that can operate.
I compare this team to the movie Space Balls.. Seen it a thousand [BLEEP] times and can tell you what happens next..

This early narrative can still be changed this year, but this is kinda must win territory in week 4. Need to get some guys back healthy this week. Could very well be, but the NFL is a week to week league a lot of times. It needs to be our week finally. It doesn't help when you're not playing well as a team AND not getting any breaks or significant calls while the opposing team is. BTJ drops a pass on the first drive that would have put us in a much more manageable 3rd and short. Travon gets blatantly held on an early TD pass. Offenses and defenses don't play in a vacuum. What happens to one affects the other thru field position and time on the bench and overall mentality. We're better than we looked last night, but clearly not good enough to overcome bad calls/no calls, drops and injuries. Same story the first two weeks. This team is not mentally tough right now. Perhaps that can still change this season. People expecting firings this week are setting themselves up to ragequit. The firings will be next week if we lose and go 3 games behind the tinhorns, lol. You don't blow things up when the stakes are still high going into a division game and you've had some significant injuries and bad luck accompanying your sub par play. At some point the luck will change and guys will get healthy. I will say that Doug needs to announce who is calling plays. This being coy [BLEEP] I didn't have much of a problem with at first, but it's utter [BLEEP] after last night and I'm not laying the majority of blame last night on offensive play calls. It was definitely more execution, but part of your responsibility as head coach is getting your team ready to play. We haven't seen what we saw last night in some time and I realize some of that was getting into negative game script early with drops and missed assignments and a bad no call on the blatant hold. I don't care what the answer is regarding offensive play caller if it's Press, him or both, but his leash should be getting mighty short and, moving forward, blame needs to be able to be properly assigned when appropriate whether that's him or Press or both. He's squandered the good will he's been afforded.

Perhaps that can still change this season. I'm not worried about the first 3 games. I'm talking about moving forward. He's shielding Press from media scrutiny. I didn't have a problem with that because I believed some were making too big a deal out of it, but he's lost the good will he had in my mind to be able to do that anymore. I'm not giving up on him or the season like some, but it should be fair game to scrutinize if the losses keep coming.

We also have 2 3rds and 2 4ths. In the off season we can build the Duval Wall around Trevor and try to give him the best protection we can. Allen is the best QB in the league against man coverage and he Nielsen continued to run man defense all night. The great coaches make adjustments when something isn't working. 3 of our top 4 corners are out and they aren't good enough to run man every play against Josh Allen who is a man defense. Allen has proven you can't run man defense against him and Nielsen doesn't know how to adjust. Just like Press and Doug don't k ow how to adjust if something isn't working. All coaches need to be fired at the end of the season unless they prove they can adjust amd start winning football games.

I'm hopeful that Harrison can be salvaged and Morse can play at par for one more year while we get someone else ready. I do think that Little and Tugboat should already be in at left tackle and right guard to see if they can be longer term answers there. If we can go Harrison, Cleveland, Morse, Tugboat, Walker next season that gives the rookies some time to get up to speed and then I'd like to see them push Cleveland and Morse out by the end of the year. Cleveland's contract is favorable to cut him after next season and Morse is only a two year deal, so it's advantageous to have them start for 2025 then fade out. Weird, at one point they flashed a graphic that Allen was like 8 of 9 for 125 and a TD against zone coverage in the first half. I was surprised to see that many listed which is why I remember it, but I also can't find any stats to back it up yet. Having said that, perhaps you just see what you want to see rather than what's out there. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Stroud bout to tear that man to man up. We ain’t blitzing at the right moments, disguising at the right moments, can’t get home with 4, no picks, no ff,
The offense can’t pick up blitzes, no rhythm, no screens, qb is falling out the pocket for no reason, giving up sacks, dropping footballs, Special teams missing tackles |
