College Football - 2024 - Big Thread

The results of Georgia-Bama is nice but doesn't determine much. If both teams take care of business the rest of the way they will play for the SEC's guaranteed bid. That is the one that counts. One year I remember Georgia getting boat raced by Auburn in the regular season, 3 weeks later they boat raced Auburn in the SEC championship. Do not underestimate Kirby's ability to learn and adapt.

Everything has pro's and con's. And this is one of the negatives of a 12 team playoff. The UGA-Bama game would have been a must watch and one of the biggest games of the season but now it's less meaningful and not something you schedule your day around unless you are a fan of either team. 2 losses will still get either team in the playoffs. Bama just has more of a cushion currently than UGA does. I suppose one could argue the game is important for seeding purposes but unless you are a fan of either team who cares about seeding.
I have to admit I just don't care for the new version of college football. Regular season is a lot less meaningful, rivalries are dead, and with the insta-transfer NIL landscape I have no idea who is on what team. It's become a lot more like the NFL only a lesser version. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff.

South Carolina getting after Alabama man. Might be another upset cooking up here in the second half.

Man that was a hell of a game for Alabama. South Carolina took them to the limit.

We should have beat Ten. Easily. We needed 1 inch and idiot Nabier runs some WR sweep in shotgun instead of a QB sneak with your 240 lb QB. Then we need less than a yard again on the 1 and run a QB sneak with Mertz instead of your 240 yrd QB. Napier is an idiot. That game should have been 24-0 at one point.
Valdosta State Blazers 6-0!
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

Beck is bad. Any thoughts on this kid being a top 5, 10 pick are delusional at best. Early day 3 pick at this point.
Laughed when Prosser a few weeks ago suggested the Jaguars consider him with the top pick if we landed it. Beck is a very, very poor man's Trevor Lawrence at best with way, way less mobility. Hard pass on that kid. No thanks. Pretty clear to me QB1 is Miami's Cam Ward. He's better than Sanders and he's better than Milroe. Has made bigger plays and has protected the ball a lot more than both of them and he just transfered there this season. QB wise:
For me, it's: 1. Cam Ward - Top Pick 2. Shadeur Sanders - Top 10 Pick 3. Jaxson Dart - RD2 4. Jalen Milroe - RD3 early 5. Carson Beck - RD3 late Jaxson Dart is underrated out of Ole' Miss. Reminds me of Baker Mayfield in college, just in a tougher SEC conference versus what Baker did at Oklahoma. Gators probably win this game today by 3 if Lagway doesn't get hurt.
