MJD a Raider
|
Quote:Mjd is chasing a ring by going to the Raiders. Or at least that is the latest out of his mouth. NFL.com has an article about it. Translation: NE offered him a ham sandwich and a stale bag of Doritos to come play there... :whistling:

Quote:He's delusional! Oakland is closer to the SB than NE? You had it right, Oakland was the only one that offered him anything at all. At this point, I'm kinda rooting for McFadden. Every other player will at least tweet something thanking the fans and former organization. We've yet to see that from this guy. Didn't think about that aspect until reading the O-Zone today, but hey, it's true.
Yep...not a peep. Very telling IMO

We had an emotional attachment and now that attachment is broken. They have moved on so that means I need to as well. Regardless of what they do or do not say from the time of the end of the attachment, it's just noise. We had a good time while we were together, but that time is over. If she wants to go out and get all skanky with some trashy folks and take selfies at the club while pounding Long Island Ice Teas and poor mouthing what we had, that's on her, not me. I'll keep my good memories, and my comments, to myself.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

I'm not talking about the team...I'm talking about the fans that had nothing to do with him getting resigned or released. The people who have been buying his jersey and screaming his name every time he makes a play.

The people who have been buying his jersey and screaming his name every time he makes a play. That's what I meant. The relationship between the player and the team is professional. Payment was doled out and performance was returned; done and done. Contract was up, player moves on. But the relationship between the player and the fans/town, that's emotional. We had good times together, even though our part of the good times were during our recreation and his part was during his business hours. When he moved on, as fans we need to view it in an 'emotional relationship' framework even though the player does not. He's moved on, let's let him do exactly that. Would I have liked a kind word from him or two? Sure. But the decision to do that was on him and not me. Besides, she left some stuff at my house that she'll have to come back for and then I'll show her!!!

Quote:That's what I meant. The relationship between the player and the team is professional. Payment was doled out and performance was returned; done and done. Contract was up, player moves on. I think that's really the rub. When he says he was wronged, the fans take it personally, and rightly so. They're not part of the business equation. They're the fans, and as such, their loyalty is almost completely based on emotion. So, when a guy takes what is perceived to be a shot at your team, it's only natural to respond in kind by shredding the guy. What MJD said was stupid. He wasn't taking into account the fans who have supported him over the years. His need to feel slighted in order to motivate himself has created a situation where the fans are left feeling like THEY were the ones who were wronged. Perhaps he'll come out at some point in an interview and talk about his appreciation for his time in Jacksonville, and for the support he did receive from the fans. Until that happens, most are going to remember that he felt he was done wrong here, and it's not going to sit well with them. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
MJD is just a "chip on his shoulder" type of guy and has been for a very long time. It is what has made him a successful NFL player.
I have no hard feelings about what he said about the Jaguars doing him wrong. If that's what it takes to motivate himself, so be it. He knows darn well the fans loved and supported him while he was here. How could we not, He was one of our only bright spots along with Scobee for the last how many years, and even these last 2 years were down years for him. I wish pocket hercules only the best and thank him for his time with the Jags. I also have no doubt he will come to appreciate his time in Jax and for all the team records he set for the Jags, just give him some time. Also like nearly everyone else on here, I will follow his time in Oakland. I also hope that he gets to play at least one game here before his career is fully over, just for fun and memories.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Boy, some of you guys (and BchBunnie) must really be into soap operas. All worried about if MJD is going to call you later.
I thought Vic did a real good job of driving home the point that pro football is a business. Well, Mojo is not real happy with his former business partners right now, and that probably includes many of the stockholders (fans). Should he invite you over for a beer? A standard "thanks for the memories" tweet would make you feel better? (Even if if his agent really wrote it?) Let it go. He'll eventually say all the right things - and perhaps that will help mend those broken hearts.
The sun's not yellow, it's chicken.

Santa Clara is closer to the truth, but it's hard to see the truth on stuff. HeadSlap
