I remember seeing people canoeing and wake boarding behind a lifted truck on Labelle off of Cassat after Hugo

This is the most tornados I remember being generated from a hurricane. And it's making some pretty big ones, too. Typically, Florida tornados aren't really large or last very long. Wait, did I just describe Floridaman?

I'm watching the Weather Channel and there's the prototypical meteorologist goomba standing in the middle of a hurricane trying to give a report. There's absolutely no journalistic, informational, or commons sense value in it all. One of these days something heavy or sharp will take one of these guys out on camera. However, that shot of Cantore in a parking garage is a good illustration of storm surge, but he doesn't have to stand in the wind like a dufus to demonstrate it.

Which reminds me of living in the Philippines. After the first typhoon I experienced there, I noticed a lot of the locals with bandages on their arms the next day. Someone explained it's because they use so much tin sheeting for their houses and buildings. It becomes flying blades when the wind gets up. People get cut protecting themselves.

My cousin and his family live in Tampa Bay and decided to stay home and ride it out.  Wallbash For a literal genius my cousin has no common sense.

Anyway, according to my aunt they told her they're fine but it was scary as hell and they don't recommend it. They're not sure of damage to property yet but nothing immediate was evident other than utilities are out.

Hopefully we hear good news from NYCJags soon.

Wait. Who's wishing for people to die?

I have no clue what they were arguing about but no one should be wishing death on someone else.

They just don't seem to have the empathy for others as you do.  You just need to keep praying for those that don't have the compassion that you were blessed with.

The power of forgiveness will set you free, my friend, and I think this fact has been lost on too many people these days.  And I'm not applying this to people that are intent on specifically harming you physically or otherwise, but people making the best decisions for themselves that indirectly affect you in a negative way, it's better for you to not compound the situation by walking around carrying such hatred or other negative emotions toward them and the first step toward absolving yourself of that is forgiving the person who has wronged you in your mind, even if it's just internally and not spoken to the person.  Have an understanding that people aren't perfect, they get caught in bad moments and say or do dumb things.  Or their life experience (or lack thereof) has led them to arrive at a different world view.  Forgive them for this.  If you're getting heated in a political argument, for instance, just step away and cool down and forgive the person in your mind for their "wrong" opinion.  You'll probably live longer as a result.

Anyway, this first session is free.  It'll be $100 per hour after this.  And here's a related song to help ease your mind a bit in the interim.
