March Madness '14

Quote:You have to give it to Donovan with what he has been able to do with the basketball program at UF. He constantly gets lesser recruited guys and makes great teams out of them. This team is a prime example with only Hill and Walker looking like they could eventually be first rounders and they don't even get that much PT.

You could make a team of guys that Billy has produced and they could compete for a playoff spot in the NBA East.

PG - Calathes, J. Williams, Wilbekin

SG - Beal, Miller

SF - Parsons, Brewer

PF - Horford, Lee, Haslem

C - Noah, Speights, Bonner/Young

and then you will be able to add Hill, Walker, Frazier, and possibly Finney-Smith to that soon too.
You think Walker stays one more? I think he does.

I think he does too. And I think next year's team will be pretty good. They won't have the depth but a starting squad of Hill - Frazier - Devon Walker - Finney-Smith - Chris Walker could be pretty damn good. Especially if Chris Walker continues to develop.

And come to think of it, I could see one of these incoming freshman taking Devon Walker's spot in that lineup.

I agree, there are three in the top 50 who could push some guys for playing time. The local guard from ACD is one of those. 6'5'' SG

I think he does stay and it will be the smart thing to do. The kid is nowhere near ready for the NBA but he could develop into something real special if he stays and works on his game.

According to Hicken yesterday, there may still be a chance that they can get Damontre Harris on board as well.

This game is definitely a strange one. Hoping the gators open up that offense and shake the bugs out from the first half.

UConn is keeping them on the ropes.  They're not letting that full court press intimidate them.

Billy Donovan looking flummoxed.

Well, don't need to worry about gator fans combating our national title in football with theirs in basketball. It's a good night.

Kevin Ollie doing a hell of a job filling Jim Calhoun's big shoes.  He carries himself well.
