He really doesn't make $55M per year though. His salary this year is $1.5M with a $37.5M signing bonus for a total compensation of $39M for 2024. For 2025 and 2026, his total compensation is $37.5M per year. For 2027, his total compensation is $41.5M and for 2028 it's $46.5M and that's where the guarantees end. The signing bonus is amortized over the life of the deal so it will push his cap number higher in future years, but you're attempting to run victory laps over his contract which is actually very team friendly when you take a look at it and it's designed to be re-done in a few years if/when he and this offense eventually take off. Also, his cap hit eventually gets to $47M in 2028. Beyond that it escalates to $78M & $75M the following years but those are non-guaranteed funny money years. The deal will either have been re-done prior to those years or we'll have moved on if he regresses or is injured. The deal is actually pretty well done and very team friendly. Never I thought I'd see such bar moving on a non sequitur point. Tua got less total value, less money/yr, less guaranteed money, and less fully guaranteed money. Contract details I simply corrected someone who wrongly said that Tua passed him. He stated that I "keep making this argument that majority of the posters here don’t subscribe to. No one here is comparing him favorably to mahomes." He's not only wrong, but is doubly wrong: A. Find a post where I stated that the majority of people compare him favorably to mahomes. B. There is a post in this very thread where someone said that they would take Trevor OVER all other NFL QBs including Mahomes... so there's someone.

He'll either not comprehend the logic or respond with some disingenuous garbage. Don't feed the tinhorn troll. LOL Anyone with a brain can see the deal doesn't turn into consequential money for some time and by then the QB market will have gone bananas by comparison. He's propping up an "argument" with anecdotal comparisons by random fans dating back to god knows when. That tells you all you need to know.

It's $202M over 5 years which comes out to a little over $40M per year. The rest is funny money designed to get him in the conversation of top paid QBs, but is not designed and very unlikely to be paid on this current deal. And that 2028 portion doesn't guarantee until 2027 so if they have decided to move on already they are not on the hook for it. At any rate, they'll either have re-done the deal or have moved on in the 2027 offseason. At this moment, it's really a 4 year $167M deal which again is just shy of $42M per year. Tua's deal is shorter for obvious concussion related reasons, and I appreciate this conversation making me look at his deal closer because I see the reason (and the date) for why he hasn't retired already. At this moment, Tua's deal is really a 2 year deal. It becomes a 3 year fully guaranteed deal on March 14th of next year 2025 with an additional $54M being guaranteed on that day for the 2026 season. Dolphins are going to have to make a decision this offseason about either guaranteeing him for 2026 or cutting bait and just eating his 2025 salary and he's not going to let them off the hook for making that decision by retiring early even if he probably should. But regardless, even if we just look at the 2 years with the current guaranteed money of $94M, he's making $47M per year. If he makes it to the March 14th, 2025 deadline and is still a Dolphin, he'll have another $54M guaranteed for 2026 which will bring his average per year salary to $49M. If you are quoting per year numbers and doing so thoughtfully, Tua is making more than Trevor per year. I'm not jumping in on anything else you are arguing here. I'm just calling out the easily misunderstood per year numbers of these contracts. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Go back to the 10 yard crossing routes and then that will open the other stuff up. Sent from my SM-T970 using Tapatalk
I want to see a win obviously
From Trevor specifically >65% completion percentage >200 passing yards >2 touchdowns passing 0 turnovers

Trevor played well.
In a game where you run the ball 39 times - there better not be a bunch of whining about QB stats, LOL We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

That was a dime pass to Kirk in the endzone, too. Unfortunately, Kirk's foot position wasn't right. A damn good play that didn't pan out.
He’s been playing good for three weeks straight now. Let’s go t-law!

What is amazing to me is Doug P has lately been saying the O-line needed time to grow together and that is the reason for their resurgence. I wish some reporter would ask him the obvious question. Doug if that is the case why did they only play 35 snaps together in the preseason? Yea, I know the obvious answer is evaluating other linemen,

Trevor has been playing well. Made some great throws and starting to build chemistry and getting things moving. Big help from the run game today.
Next few weeks will be a big test for the O. If they have to put up 35+ ,every week they will struggle, like any O would.
