Mid [sorta] season Rookie review

#1

BTJ- So happy we have him, crazy he still has so much development room left in him, finally hit on a WR1 - Grade S

Maason Smith- Flew out the gates  had some really good games where he drew various holding calls, alot of potential but has seen a significant drop in gsme time, not to sure if he smashed Nielsen's window or what - Grade E

Jarrian Jones- he has been great in the nickle, great ball hawk ability against packers for that pick, looking forward to his further development, Grade - A

Javon Foster- eh, personally I have not seen much, Grade - E

Jordan jefferson- again I presume he is a next year player, has got some snaps but not much impact- Grade E

Deantre Prince- not looking to good so far, he has been exposed multiple times , inc againdt packers, Grade- E minus

Keilan Robinson- Who ? - Grade F

Cam Little- man I really want them to give him a shot from 60+, he 100% has the leg for it, been really good so far, inc the game winning field goal againdt clots,  Grade A

Myles Cole- Baalke attribute player  some snaps, not expecting much, could be a diamond in the rough, Grade - E

To be fair -
We really know basically nothing about Smith, Foster, Jefferson, Robinson and Cole as of now.

I think Foster may become a good back-up lineman in due time.

Smith could be solid in the middle eventually.

BTJ, Jones and Little were great picks.

Can Little is the most accurate kicker in team history as of now. Super strong leg, maybe strongest in franchise history.

Maybe I'm too old, and my kids too young, to understand the letter scale being used here.

As mentioned above too early to give a grade for the later round picks who havent been used much. Maason is the only one I'd grade as very negative. Probably a D. 2nd round pick not even dressing for games is a major issue.

BTJ is definitely on the cusp of being elite. By sheer odds we were long overdue to finally hit on a first round WR. Reggie was a decent player but just not as talented. Soward, Blackmon and Jones were the real disappointments as they may have been good players without the off the field issues. Probably most bummed about Jones. Still remember watching one of those early preseason games from my seats where he caught that long bomb down the middle one handed with his off hand and everybody in the crowd going nuts thinking we may have drafted a star. Crazy to think he is still 7th all-time in jags history for TD receptions and he didn't care or try hard at all. Imagine if he had Evan Engrams work ethic. Would have been such a good player. What a waste.

Unless Thomas suddenly regresses after being dinged up he is our best First round pick in recent memory. Considering he was a mid round selection, and has been better than Nabers imo who has also been injured. Cam Little is great, he splits the uprights with force. Will replace Scobee as the franchise's best kicker (barring he actually gets called upon to win games at the end and misses). Everyone else has just been along for the crappy ride that is the 2024 Jaguars and can't be placed as part of the problem or solution yet. Jarrian Jones gets a good mention with the interception off Love.

BTJ and Cam Little are both great out of the gate. Jarrian Jones is slowly picking up. The rest have had a rough start or haven't seen much of anything from them.

i'd like to see Mason Smith get out there more, with RRH out we could really use this young DT/NT now.
