Goodbye, Trent. (And possibly Doug)

I'm just waiting for the news in the coming days. If anything, a few defensive plays and Trevor keep the team in the game against the Eagles. The play-calling on both sides of the ball have been abysmal. 2024 FAs have been horrific.

It's time for those heads to roll.

Khan is still the owner so...

Team played hard today even when things looked bleak. That's not a sign of a lost locker room. In fact, it's quite the opposite. There may be individuals that have fallen prey to that mentality, but one of them was just traded away recently in Cam Robinson. Final play call decision was horrendous though. If I were Khan, I'd want to know who called it because the decision contributed mightily to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

5 losses by 5 points or less. Doug is here til he retires on his own.

Khan will give them a good talking too over Ice cream Sunday's but due to their performance he is withholding the 24k sprinkles and the hot fudge.  Seriously Khan isn't doing anything til the end of the year.

Nah buddy. The team is "talented". Trent built it. He stays.

The OVERWHELMING majority believe this team is TALENTED, and it absolutely blows my [BLEEP] mind.

Can't BLOW a team out. That should be what we are looking for. Instead people try and take small victories with the "well we were in the game". Pathetic.

We wont see a firing until after our bye week,

Im guessing Khan gives Doug the whole season, and Baalke firing will come first - maybe new GM will have say on if we fire Doug

Why not get a headstart on both? Beat out more attractive franchises with the early search. New GM walks into a talented roster with a top 3 pick.

No one is getting fired unless we lose the next 6 games and stand at 2-13. At that point, they fire Doug and offer interim HC to Press and then fire him at the end of season. But nothing will change if Khan picks his own GM. He is not qualified to run an NFL franchise.

Not me.  This team lacks talent on both sides of the ball.  Baalke sucks at free agency and his drafts aren't much better. Both Baalke and Pedersen need to go. Clean sweep. Get rid of all the scouts, the coaches, everyone.

We are now last in the AFC South. Behind the tacks. Same record as the Panthers.

Let that sink in.

I honestly could see a season where we went 8-9. But potentially a 4 win season? Wow

Maybe people will WAKE UP... probably not but... "team is so talented i can't believe we lose" should be bannable right now. The team is bottom of the pit. BOTTOM.

I genuinely believe the fates do not favor us. I don't know who or what brought the wrath of the football gods upon Duval, but these close losses are EXHAUSTING. False hope worse than no hope, yadda yadda.

D was getting to Hurts, they were uncharacteristically sloppy, but we give them some freebies or can't figure out how to advance a pigskin for 2 and a half quarters of football. The week before, all the offensive heroics, but the D forgets how to cover or rush and blow the game. JUST ONE GAME, man, where we do well on both sides of the ball for a game...that too much to ask?

When a team/ref tries to give you the game and you still cannot capitalize, that's bad.

At one point it was 22-0 and we had 30 total yards of offense. To finish that game as a five point loss is unfathomable. The fates dangle that carrot in front of our noses just long enough for a sniff, and then we run a 3rd string RB on a post. YOINK! no more carrot.

If we can manage to understand the basic tenets of offensive football AT ALL anywhere in the first half, that was a winnable game. Or at least another chance to let the D collapse in the final minute. Six in one hand, bucket of turds in the other.

Either this OR like a scene from Varsity Blues where the players at the end of the game played without Bud Kilmer the coach.

What head start?

If the plan is to move on, you're already scouting the guys that are available today (if anyone is a decent candidate, why are they at home presently?), and you can't do more than research the guys that are employed. A firing today does nothing other than give you a chance to test internal candidates who you think might fit the plan.
