Both had a majority vote of more than 55% as of me writing this.  Its a bit annoying these hoth had to have 60% or more to pass.  Why?

As of now I am of the understanding that neither will pass.

They are proposed amendments to the state constitution.  Many people think constitutional amendments should be passed selectively since even our state legislators and governor can't change them.  The state's 60% standard is actually incredibly easy if you want to compare it to the United States Constitution which requires two thirds approval from the House of Representatives, two thirds approval from the Senate and three fourths of state legislatures.  

Changing the threshold from 50% plus one to 60% was actually created through an amendment that passed in 2006.  The rule change was in reaction to a prior amendment dealing with pregnant pigs which some thought was both silly and written misleadingly and felt it was too easy to get amendments passed.  Ironically, the amendment creating the 60% rule passed with only 57% of the vote.

It may not apply to your corporation. That is too of a broad statement. The main issue people have with corporations is they employee a lot of different tactics and money to lobby government to install barriers to entry. While this increases costs it reduces competition in the industry. They can, due their superior capitalization and access to lower cost capital endure this.

Amendment 3 and 4 are examples of badly written laws. They are a subject the people want to resolve but were written to achieve an agenda of a limited amount of people. In both cases the writers did not listen to the people of the state, rather took the opportunity to be deceptive. The voters sniffed that out and voted them down.

I didn't see the problem of legalization and treating it like alcohol.. They ran a smear/fear campaign talking about how people would be just hanging out like in Colorado in weed circles, toking up in front of the public lololol

I mean, we have open container laws for a reason, why couldn't they have just treated it like that? We don't smoke in restaurants, hospitals or other establishments where it's prohibited. It could have been treated that way.

If I smoke out in public, it's my vape.. If it's flower, I sit on my glider bench at home in the back yard (Amish made and beautiful), smoke out and watch the birds and squirrels. Quite peaceful..

There doesn't need to be a state amendment for most things. Have the state reps write the law, work with law enforcement, local cities, health care, etc. They did none of that. The lobbyists wrote it and put the stuff they wanted in it.

I don't want it legal because I know it won't be used responsibly in private. It will be used in public everywhere, just like alcohol. Police won't do anything about it unless it's a huge group. So what ends up happening is the people that are already [BLEEP] and don't care about how they are affecting everyone around them will now have something else.

If people would truly keep it private, I don't think there would be much pushback.

Guys both laws were badly written by out of state special interest trying to be devious. The laws had so many loopholes they could exploit it was ridiculous. They played on people's emotions and knew the people would wake up after a time. So made it an amendment to be real hard to change.
