Yes, but Trump is a lame duck candidate taking office this time. I wonder how that affects his decision-making. Does Trump even care if the Republican party can carry on after his departure? I honestly don't know.

Judging by the people he is surrounding himself with this time compared to his last term it certainly looks that way.
