Give trev as much time as he needs, we clearly aren't winning anyway. Him taking some time could do as much mental good as physical at this point, and if he does need surgery doing it now will give him maximum rehab time for next year

I don't think this would be fair to the ticket season holders. They do pay top dollar to watch "stars" perform. But I get it from a business side of things the ideal is to sit him.

There is no guarantee on a ticket as to who is playing. STHs pay for the privelege of having a seat reserved for them and nothing more.

Just the same as you don't get a refund if it rains, you don't get a refund if the QB blows his knee out in the first game of the year.

I support Trevor Lawrence going to IR. He's one of the few players on this team who can anchor a new regime if Shad Khan decides to pull his head out of his [BLEEP] and do something. BTJ should become "injured" as well. No sense in ruining the golden eggs.

Neither Baalke nor Pederson will let that happen if their jobs are on the line. If he goes on IR you'll likely see both back next year.

...which, wouldn't that be 100% fitting for Duval? Prolong the suffering, that way we know we're not actually dead.

We need to start a brotherhood with Browns fans, they have way more experience than we do in this department, they could probably teach us a thing or too about developing proper coping mechanisms for dealing with frustrating failure over generations.

You'll have to explain those. If a doctor deems he needs surgery, how can they not allow that to happen? Especially if TL is onboard with that decision (and my gut instinct says he is, with some convincing from his father - all purely speculative). 

How do tweedle-dum and tweedle-stupid hold on to their jobs if the team sucks even worse after Lawrence is out?

10 games in and people talking about sitting multi million dollar players. They got 7 games left, they need to play. BTJ and TLAW gaining chemistry is the most important thing for rest of year.

That's not going to happen with little run game support, poor blocking, or a QB worried that the next hit is going to finally get him on the operating table.

Plus, if we DO completely clean house, there's going to be a whole new offense to learn, they'll have to rework all that chemistry anyhoo.

Still a quality defense. What I don't understand is why Doug and/or Press insisted on running it at them. They're still a really good run defending team and they were passing it better on in the 1st half. It was frustrating to see them go run, run, pass on 1st, 2nd and 3rd downs in that order. 

Just no creativity at all.

Yeah, its a quality defenses but this is the NFL.  Look who is calling the plays.   Doug would rather get fired than take over play calling.

I think it's more a matter of it doesn't matter if Press or Doug is making the call, we're doomed to limited productivity. Even moreso if Mac is under center and teams can just stack the crap out of the box and force us to third and longs all day.

It's going to be interesting seeing how Doug handles Trevor this week. I'm not saying Trevor isn't injured but he was able to play the rest of the Philly game, Doug says he has no idea where the surgery talk had come from and that it's a pain tolerance injury. Just feels there's something more to this. 

I find it odd that Doug is already saying Mac Jones 'will be better' against Detroit.

He also says he can't offer any news about Trevors injury until Wednesday when the team next practices. So he can't rule Trevor out but can say Mac Jones will be better in the next game? I also don't think he'd be talking about Trevor the same way with the amount of turnovers and how bad they were. I'll just leave you with this from another article

TL will lead us to the promise land. First he needs a HC, GM, OC, DC, some more early draft picks WRs like BTJ and a very good RB.

On defense he needs a defense that wont allow teams to score more than 20.1 ppg because god forbid he wont be able to put our offense in position to score more than 20.1

That's just not true at all man. Look at Burrow and Chase. Chase took a year off in college and took this whole offseason off. Burrow and Chase got that chemistry, that true bond. Burrow can close his eyes and knows where his superstar WR is. Chase also knows where to be when the play breaks down, for Burrow to hit him. 

The more reps for Trevor and BTJ the better. I don't even understand the argument against it. 

There is zero guarantee Trevor is even healthy next year. He has just an equal chance to have an injury next year as right now. BTJ could also be injured next season. None of it makes sense to sit them just because [BLEEP] it.

This has been the majority of my line of thinking with him as well being here. I also feel confident that he gets the offensive line addressed, gets the running game up to par and he flips the defense into a top ten unit within a year or two. 

His decision making as a General Manager can be tough at times, for sure, maybe there's something Khan can do here with Belichick. Convincing him to give up that responsibility to some extent and just focus on coaching the way that Coughlin was asked to do with the Giants.

We'll see. Those are my big four now though.

How long ago was he a good QB? Two years ago? We are still working on bringing him a good HC, good OL, good DLs, and good running backs until the shine boy dominates the league.

The issues with Belichick:

1. Who is his GM? There was nothing about the last 10 years of his Patriots tenure that should suggest he can be a GM again? 
2. He has maybe 3 seasons in him, possibly 4. He is gunning for Shula needing 26 wins. Given how many average or below average position groups are on this team, you really think he can turn this around in 1 season? Then right when the Jags are peaking he may be done?
3. Plus I don't think McDaniels is the answer at OC. He basically only succeeded when he had Brady, and that feels like it was more a collaboration with Brady having a lot of power and influence.

We should be talking about how Mac Jones is not nearly in the same galaxy as Trevor Lawrence... Come on, you guys. There are plenty of other threads to discuss the GM and the HC. This is the Trevor Lawrence thread. Certain haters of Lawrence are trying to ignore the absolute [BLEEP] show by our back our QB that proves that Lawrence is a legit franchise QB.

I hope not.  I think we need to shut him down, and tank for a top 5 pick.  

On top of that, Lawrence is injured.  Despite all the problems with this team, Lawrence has played well.  He's not perfect, but he's our guy.  It's time to shut him down, get him healthy, and go for a playoff run next year.
