MJD To The Ring Of Honor Someday? I Hope Not.

IF Fred Taylor had a healthy career he would of smashed every rushing record.  He has a rare combination of speed and power.  Injuries took some of his speed but he still had a great career.

Same goes with Boselli and numerous other NFL players. Woulda, coulda, shoulda.

He is special here. Around the rest of the league? Not nearly as much.

Quote: How was it a silly comparison??? Barry Sanders equated to Fred in the comparison as both were the elite talents. MoJo compared to Curtis Martin as both were "very good" all around RB, but yet neither ever were really an "elite talent".

Its not specifically comparing the each's game to the other, but the level of player.

I didn't think it was that hard to comprehend, nor did I think it was "baseless & [BLEEP]"...
. Curtis Martin is a terrible comparison. Dude was phenomenal and will probably be a future HOF candidate. 14,000+ rushing yards, 90 TDs. Consistent every year.

Martin already is a HoF.

As many have pointed out, the pride is for the fans and recognizing Jaguar players that had a significant impact on the team and community as a whole. And especially for those that go to the game. TMD, your opinion does not matter for something you don't even see in person. Anything else you want to criticize? Now we are criticizing The Pride of the Jaguars? Really? Are you just running out of things to complain about at this point?

Curtis Martin was not "phenominal". He was a very good player that made the HOF as a "compiler". Would be similar to if Craig Biggio made the baseball HOF....very good player, nothing at all outstanding about them, but they consistently put up very good numbers for a loooooong time.

Fred Taylor was a legit PHENOMINAL talent. As was Barry Sanders. As was Gayle Sayers as currently is Adrian Peterson. Gayle Sayers, like Fred Taylor would have put up ridiculous numbers career wise if not for injuries cutting their time.

MoJo is like Curtis Martin at a similar part of Martin's career. The only thing different is that I see MoJo declining a lot earlier than Martin did.

Exactly. Fred was Gayle Sayer's-like in talent/ ability.

MoJo isn't, never was, and never will be.

Let's have a ROH for loyal fans.

When would TMD get in? Would he? Should he? Should attendance be necessary? Does amount of posts count? How about banishments?

I don't agree. If you used the same health argument for MJD it'd be easy to say MJD probably would have broke all of Fred's records while he played here.

In terms of pure talent....I agree entirely with the above.

Fred Taylor had special ability.  He's a HOF talent.  No doubt in my mind.  Unfortunately I do not see him getting in but the man was an incredible combination of speed, size, and strength.  Fred is in the upper class of NFL running backs, all time, easy.

Gale Sayers was another one.  That man was blessed with incredible speed and quickness.  Guys like that are special players.

Mojo isn't on that level...and there's nothing wrong with that.  Mojo is a darn good football player and I enjoyed watching him here.  Especially his younger days, I loved watching him return kickoffs.

When you keep harping on being a long distance fan...you aren't just dogging out TMD ya know. You're kinda making it seem like if you're not a local fan, you're not a "real" fan...
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

I am not saying MJD was on the same level of Fred but that dosen't negate MJD's accomplishments and he should certainly be in the ring as well.

I think MoJo is "close", but should be no slam dunk to make it.

Nope...I don't wanna see him up there. In my opinion, he was a selfish, self-centered player. I'll remember him for how he held out for more money and hurt the team in the process. In my opinion, I also think that he pretty much quit the last couple of years. He did indeed have some impressive stats... but not over-all as good as Fred Taylor. To me, he just doesn't feel like someone who should be up there. Like others have already stated, I'd rather see Jimmy Smith up there than MJD... I think that at least when he (Jimmy Smith) played for the team, he played FOR the team, not himself. In my opinion, if you didn't play for Tom C, you shouldn't be up there.

. I think mjd was a Team Guy .. Selfish players take plays off .. I never seen that with mjd .. I look at the way he blocked consistently ..a selfish player won't consistently put in that kind of work.. Quit the last couple of years??? I guess knee & foot injuries equate as quitting round here .He did hold out .. But in the Nfl it's called a business decision.
Cali got the Oranges ..Jacksonville got the Drew !!

The only thing MJD did wrong was listen to his idiotic agent.

You think he "quit" the last couple of years? Really?

...Lets just say it troubles me that we're letting our emotions get ahead of our objective point of views.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.
