There’s only a handful of players that are rosterable, there is no pro bowl talent let alone all pro lol. NFL is the “not for long” for a reason, you’re almost guaranteed to have a couple back to back losing seasons with this roster. The owner is an idiot with a 62-144 record. [BLEEP] that, this is a nightmare situation for attractive options. This screams retreads as our only options.

I disagree.  Potential GM/HC's don't care if our GM/HC's of the past were bad.  If they are gone, why would the new person care what has happened in the past?  Why would one from 10 years ago matter?  Few to no GM/HC's believe in curses.  In regards to the team's talent, I would point out that it's rare for a team with a great roster to be looking for a new head coach.  Most of the other teams shopping for a coach this year also have poor rosters.  Below are some reasons why I think the Jaguars would be a desirable job:
  • The Jaguars will be picking high in each round next year.  (As of today, it would be #1, but that could change.)
  • The Jaguars have extra draft picks in the 2025 draft.
  • The Jaguars have extra draft picks in the 2026 draft.
  • The Jaguars are $61 million under the salary cap next year with opportunities to make even more room.
  • The Jaguars have an owner that is willing to open his check book and spend big money in free agency.
  • The Jaguars lost 6 games by less than a touchdown.  Many of these came down to one mistake or one missed opportunity.  HC/GM's will see that it wouldn't take much to turn those games around and improve the record.
  • The Jaguars have Trevor Lawrence.  I know some don't like him, but I think smart HC/GM's will recognize that he hasn't reached his full potential and will be better with a better surrounding team.  Most of the other teams with open positions lack a good young quarterback.  It also doesn't appear to be a great year for quarterbacks in the draft.  Even if you do draft one, rookie quarterback often take time to develop.
  • The Jaguars have an owner that is very hands off in regards to football decisions.
  • The Jaguars have an owner that has shown to be very loyal to his GM's and HC's.  He gave Caldwell 8 years and Baalke more years than he deserved.  While the tenure of head coaches is mixed, they all had terrible records when being fired.  Fun fact:  Khan has never fired a HC who has had 3 or more wins in his final season.

I have no concerns with GM/HC's wanting to work here.  The question is whether Khan picks the right one.

It’s 1 pm and both of those clowns are still employed. I’m shocked.

I will maintain Trent and Doug on staff as long as my ROI is positive. See you all Sunday!

As much as Pederson has been a disaster over the last 1.5 years this will be his first losing season. His biggest flaw is loyalty to his coaches to a fault. Doug would likely resign, but I would give him that option as Philly did the same before canning him. If the DC pick was forced on him I really feel like he was put in a [BLEEP] situation on that side of the ball. I know the man is cooked, just food for thought.

Not at all, it’s gotta be a clean sweep and start over from scratch. There’s a theory out there that Khan could retain Baalke and bring in Bilichick to oversee the operation. If that happens, it might honestly be the final straw for me as a longtime fan.

Right. Khan has never done a clean sweep and the ideal scenario is he finally does it. If he didn’t though, I would only be ok with Doug being retained with an entire new staff and front office around him and an EVP overseeing all things football. Doug is a fine head coach, his problem is loyalty to Press, and supposedly Baalke made the pick at DC according to Prisco. If Baalke is allowed to rebuild I would really lose interest in the team as well.

You get NOTHING! You LOSE! Good DAY SIR!

We just need to hand him our tickets man, place our tickets right down on his table, then, maybe then, will he do the right thing and hire me, Caldrac, yours truly, as the Chief Financial Janitor or General Manager of his factory of sadness.

I love this team man. I love our fans. I would truly do what I could within my power to make this team as good as I possibly can. 24/7, 365 days per year until the day I die or my contract expires. Just need a little over $78,000 to pay off my house and then I can go from there.

You might be correct.  I would have thought that it would have happened by now.

Don't you just love it? I wish I could pay off one of the reporters to chuck one of their [BLEEP] shoes at him while he's up there with his smug [BLEEP] replies. LOL.

"We just need to execute bet.." WABASH, straight [BLEEP] shoe to his grill. Man, that would be great.

Well I think this is ok, we will secure the #1 pick with Doug

First question from me if I was a reporter would have been:

"Why the [BLEEP] are you still here?"

Season ticket renewals go out in a week or 2. The ticketing side will feel the pain. That info does make it up to Lamping but not sure it matters to Khan.

Is anyone really surprised?

We've all seen this movie hundreds of times. The ending doesn't change, and neither does the cost of admission.

Everyone needs to relax. I know many are angry but firing him and Trent today or after the last game of the season makes no difference. For starters, I'd like to think our next GM/head coach combo are both employed at successful organizations headed to the playoffs. So we aren't hiring anybody right now. Secondly, is there any track record of firing a guy mid-season vs waiting until year end showing any net benefit? Definitely not in jacksonville. Look at our history of who we let go when and the coach that followed.

Fired after the season
Coughlin --> Del Rio
Mularkey --> Bradley
Marrone --> Meyer

Fired midseason
Del Rio --> Mularkey
Bradley --> Marrone (only time we kept interim guy)
Meyer --> Pederson

I'd argue going from Coughlin to Del Rio was the best transition we've had. Not one time has firing a guy midseason resulted in us landing a quality coach who showed consistent success. Not once did we get a "head start" in the process enabling us to hire the most sought after candidate. It just doesn't matter. If anything now that Shad knows this front office / coaching staff isn't gonna work, he's got time to do some research on what his next steps should be. He really needs to find some guidance to help lead the process. And we desperately need a clean sweep followed by hiring a GM/head coach combo that have the same core beliefs about what the identify of this team should be and what type of offense and defense they want to run. And Shad can do that whether it's Doug and Trent here or two interim guys. It doesnt matter.

360 million and Khan couldn't afford decent wireless internet on KISMET.

His firing text message is stuck sending.
