Jags Trade for Mac Jones

Mac Jones is definitely no Julian Edelman.  I see him more like Randy Moss or Calvin Johnson mold.  If we can line him up wide and just throw him some deep jump balls I think we can at least go to the AFC Championship Game.

AGREE!!!!

Everybody knows what Jones is, which means no team will trade anything of value for him.

Exactly.  Rob Johnson literally threw 28 passes for the Jags so he was the great unknown, who flashed.  Mac Jones has thrown 1308 passes for the Pats in regular season so everyone knows that he's pretty much the AJ McCarron of this decade.

Lol .... just remembering when people were thinking we could trade Mac Jones for a 3rd rounder.

I was hopeful he would have a great preseason and then not see the field until we dealt him to someone else. I wonder if Baalke even considered it while he was winning those Masterclass deals to get conditional 3rd day picks 2 years from now?

If Mac Jones was even half way decent, I think both him and Bill would still be in NE..

Yeah, Jags went to the playoffs too.

How's that turning out now?

Trevor Lawrence was our QB.  We wouldn't have made the playoffs if Mac Jones was our QB

Your opinion is fine and all, but it's still just that, an opinion and a hypothetical. Got to play the hand you're dealt.

And since you've changed "would've to wouldn't", I agree

You think we would have made the playoffs with Mac Jones?  Lol.  BB also won 11 games with Mart Cassell at QB

The Pats only gave up 303 points that season, which was 2nd best in the NFL.

Kind of like giving Dilfer credit for the Ravens 2001 SB Victory.

this is like saying Brian Billick is a genius for getting Trent Dilfer to the SB. That team was completely middling offensively but was among the top teams in total yards allowed, turnovers forced, pass defense and expected points.

Doug Marrone coached Blake Bortles to the playoffs too, but I don't see teams beating down his door to unlock their mediocre QB's potential. Oh wait, that was also the result of a knockout defense.

correlation != causation

Dilfer had some timely throws in that game, even tho his stats were avg/below avg by todays standards.

Would the aspect of walker, JHA, Campbell be enough for BB to salivate over ?

Not just that, but we have some really good LB's.  The defense isn't really the problem as much as how Neilsen has been playing them.

The safeties, though are suspect.  Not to mention the lack of depth all over the line and secondary.  The more I think about it, the more I get sad.

Mac Jones has never been good and I said it from the start. Glad some people are finally opening their eyes. Dude [BLEEP] stinks.

You are proving my point, he can coach a bad QB to the playoffs and he is that great of a defensive coach.  With that said. Comparing that NE defense to the Ravens D is comical.  Jones QB rating was higher than Mahomss is this year though.

Billick and Marrone had nothing to do with those defenses.
