Is Belichek a better GM than Baalke? Is Belichek a better coach than Pedersen? If the answer to both is Yes, then why not consider Belichek? At least when its time to clean house again, you only have one firing to perform.  And you wouldnt have to worry about conflict between coach and GM, unless Belichek is a closet schizophrenic.

2) BB is savvy and straightforward. If he didn't have Tawmy, I kinda think he and Doug would be roughly the same - middling guy, might get a few good seasons, but nothing groundbreaking.

BB is getting old, didn't really thrive without his GOAT, and I can't help but think we'll see a lot of the same frustrations with him regarding approach, fervor, and results as we do with our current guy. How long do you see him coaching? 

Based on that, he's probably the guy that gets the job. We can't have nice things.

To me everything about BB is questionable. Brady wasn't an automatic winner right away. The D carried them those years. BB was known as a defensive guru, but that was 20 years ago and that was back when we didn't know they were stealing signals.
After all that, Brady became the GOAT and it didn't really matter what BB did anymore.

I have seen this notion floating around here about Bill Belichick and his defenses being good "20 years ago". I am not nitpicking at you in particular, but, it's really a bad and lazy take, and it doesn't take much leg work to look up his defensive rankings over the years in New England.

2022: 11th in PF, 8th in yards
2021: 2nd in PF, 4th in yards
2020: 7th in PF, 15th in yards
2019: 1st in both categories
2018: 7th in PF, 21st in yards
2017: 5th in PF, 29th in yards
2016: 1st in PF, 8th in yards
2015: 10th in PF, 9th in yards
2014: 8th in PF, 13th in yards

That's just the last 10 years. This was all well after the whole spy gate stuff as well. When they had household names on every level of defense. I can't name you any big name or household names that Bill had to work with these last 10 years worth of squads. Which it makes it even that much more impressive. 

So, he's essentially had a top 10 defense in points 8 times over the last 10 times he was coaching and he had the top mark twice in said timeframe. His last two years, sure, we saw a decline, and yet, even with that decline? He was still 11th and 15th, which would more than likely put his squad in the top 8 of the AFC or better in general.

This was also due to a woefully bad offense that was spearheaded by Mac Jones, the current QB that has woefully performed here in Jacksonville over the last two weeks. He won a game against Buffalo with Mac Jones where I think he had one pass attempt in the game. Enough said..

He still clearly knows defense. He can probably still fix the offensive line and get the ground game established, and, I really think that's all he needs for Lawrence to be successful at this level. Especially in this division. Not sure why people keep sleeping on Bill Belichick but the slander with this defensive narrative needs to stop...

Liam Coen, it just feels too early in my opinion. Getting a Jay Gruden, Jim Zorn vibe from him. He still needs to prove himself more as a play caller in my opinion. I also think he doesn't call a well balanced game. There's been times where the offense has felt flat. Especially over these last two weeks, and, granted, injuries have happened and that sucks, but, it's just too soon in my opinion. 

If you're going to go that route? Why not take a chance on Kellen Moore instead? More experience, a little bit more to look at between DAL, LAC and now PHI. He's shown some rather interesting play calls with a wide variety of different players he could probably come up with something good for Lawrence here.

Not worried.

I think we'll have a new GM and a new coaching staff in the offseason and after this many failures ownership will approach it carefully.

Fred Taylor should be the EVP, being from Florida it's clear he loves Jacksonville more than that west coast guy.

 Lawrence is far from Brady and never know if he ever will reach anywhere near it.  We don't have neither yet.
