We're currently paying higher prices in the stores because of HORRIBLE democrat policies..

And if we have to pay higher prices to help further secure our country, so be it.. At least one of the higher prices is going to help keep us safe and not further endanger our societies anymore..

So if a company such as Walmart normally pays $10 for a widget made in China (or any other foreign country) vs. a widget made for $15 here in the U.S.A and a 100% tariff is imposed on foreign made widgets, which one would Walmart purchase to sell?

That's the idea of tariffs.  A company isn't going to buy the same widget for twice the price ($20) to sell and pass that cost onto consumers, they are going to buy the less expensive one ($15) made in the U.S.A, advertise that it's made in the U.S.A and sell the widget that might cost a consumer a little bit more than the Chinese made widget.

Yes, prices might rise just a bit, but that extra cost supports companies/business in the U.S. and in turn supports good paying jobs in the U.S.

Can there be more than one facet to how tariffs will be used?

XYZ corp see’s tariffs coming for products made in Taiwan raising the cost to do business there.  Makes a deal with the US Gov to delay tariffs imposed on them while they build a new facility in Tennessee.

Will the cost of good go up for all Americans?  Certainly.  Will the country be better off when manufacturing returns to our soil providing good jobs for those willing to work? Certainly.

So is he or is he not going to put tariffs on Mexican imports?  Is there actually something Mexico can do to stop him from doing that?  The idea that Mexico is going to stop the migrants because of the threat of tariffs implies that there is something Mexico can do to forestall the tariffs.  But if the reason for the tariffs is to make Mexican products more expensive and help American manufacturers, then Mexico cannot forestall the tariffs by stopping the migrants.
