Coaching Firings/ Personnel Changes

So I've been looking at the Jaguars cap and contracts for the next few years. I knew that Baalke had starting doing the whole "void year" machinations to sign players, especially this past 2024 off season.
The issue with this process is that if it continues, it sets up a situation that is super difficult to get out of, because it has already messed with the Jaguars' future years cap space. Already the Jaguars are set to have void year money eating dead cap space out until 2028 for the following amounts: 2025 $21.2m 2026 $23.7m 2027 $49.6m 2028 $19.1m This is super crazy because 2027 is year 3 for any new coach when they are expected to be contending if Trevor can become a winning starting QB. But the team will already be handicapped to be able to the sign the players they need to do so. Unless they can magically start drafting better and fill out the team with cheaper young talent. But if Baalke is still here, that won't happen. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Mitch Morse at least admitted that he was told not to speak about it. "That's all I can really say about it." Go to minute 33 to watch his entire interview. The "that's all I can really say about it" speaks volumes to me. It's obvious that Dough wanted a specific message out to the media. A soft message. The coaches told them what to say, they were to be passive about what happened. This is the most [BLEEP] coaching staff I've ever seen. There is no passion on this team because Dough has no passion. He's just a soft piece of [BLEEP]. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9RCVNsa...L&index=14 (12-03-2024, 05:12 PM)flgatorsandjags Wrote: [BLEEP] this guy man, I can't wait till he is gone. [BLEEP] coach I hate what Doug said way more than anything Ryans/Casserio said because at the end of the day they are backing up their guys whether we like it or not. That’s what they should do. The way they said it, bad choice of words imo. Doug, chooses to go the opposite way, which I guarantee the guys in the locker room hear, it divides the locker room even more. They flat out don’t want to play for this horrible coach and then Baalke just flat out doesn’t say ANYTHING all year. It’s [BLEEP] ridiculous they are still employed.

I just don't see why the Owner isn't finally realizing he needs to flush the toilet and get real Duval loyalists to give him advice.
I honestly think that Boselli needs to be hired as part of the front office. If we just go outside the organization, we're gonna have the same results. Nobody outside of Jacksonville cares enough to really build a franchise. Boselli breathes, eats, [BLEEP], here in Duval. We need someone like that who can provide a culture. I truly believe that any hire that doesn't have Boselli as the EVP sign off means we're doomed. Boselli is the key to all of this. Khan doesn't care. Tony is not focused on football, but instead he's burning cash on a lame version of "wrasslin'". There are only a few real adults near this franchise.... Boselli is the most qualified advisor. He should be running this trash organization.

Everyone knows that this is your opinion, but the issue is what qualifications does he have to be an executive? Does he have experience with a scouting department? Does he have experience hiring and firing NFL staff members and coaches? Does he have some 'insider' contacts around the league that can help point him in the right direction? IMO a "Duval loyalist" doesn't really get you anything. Competency at the job you're hired to do is what creates success. Can the EVP weed his way through the myriad of GM candidates to find one that matches up with the Owner, brings a vision for team, and is able to work hand in hand with a HC to execute a strategy and adapt that strategy based on what is available at the time.
