Welcome to the final Game Day thread of the 2024 season. Much was lost this year beyond the many games as the Jaguars franchise hits what feels like the lowest of lows we've experienced in our three decades of despair. All those hopes, dreams, and expectations for the season washed away by a fateful 30 seconds way back in Week 1 as the team just never recovered from the collapse in Miami. Today we say farewell to many players and perhaps leaders who will not be making their return next season. Mac Jones leads an offense that looks to get Brian Thomas Jr fully into the NFL spotlight. Really that's it. That's all we have to be joyful about this January day. I hope you'll enjoy the bitter taste of today's game, for win or lose...this is the End.

That game is on TV today at 1pm. I intend to be drunk by 1:01.

Thoughts, commentary, arguments, snark and perhaps some wistful hope for a new day tomorrow to follow throughout the day.

Eagles are sitting their players so Giants could win that one and the Bills may rest starters. If Giants and Pats win we could jump both, Titans as well. We could actually pick 2nd if all 3 win and we lose.

Regardless of the outcome, 18 weeks of pain and suffering will be over, and we can have closure.  Of course, depending on what happens tomorrow, Kahn may screw that up too.

It should stick out: it takes an extreme level of ineptitude in talent acquisition and management to be this bad when you have a top ten level QB and a decent coach, and the Jaguars have those two things.

I know there are a lot of people here that hate Doug, but he's a good enough coach that if he had a GM that could build an average roster we'd be in the playoffs this year.

I hope Baalke will be gone at this time tomorrow, but I don't believe in Khan's ability to evaluate what's going on around him and take decisive action, so I'll believe it's happening when I see it.

I’m going to admit it. I had high expectations going into this year. Haven’t been this disappointed since 2018. I just want to wrap the season with a win. Draft is a crap shoot and I think Shad isn’t going to change his mind over one final win or loss. Let’s get ‘er done.

If we win, our young players likely looked good and continued improvement. If we lose we get a higher draft pick. Its a win win

I am fine with either result today. Draft position, coaches getting let go, or sweeping another division rival sounds good during a TERRIBLE season.

If you'd have told me in September we'd be going into Week 18 4-12 I'd have laughed at your pessimism. Well here we are. What a [BLEEP] season this year has been. Hurts a little bit more when you have optimism for the year.

One last hurrah before the 9 month wait for meaningful football again. That doesn't hurt quite as much right now.
