Well, Khan is obviously a clown so...

Shad gave Baalke one last chance to screw up the 2025 season as a goodbye gift. He's quite the gentleman.

I'm sure he knows. If he isn't hearing it himself, it's a given Tony is keeping him abreast. I put the timing of this firing down to stubbornness because Khan doesn't want to be regarded as an owner who bows to irrational fan pressure.

Bad strategy. Now he looks like a vacillating [BLEEP] hat.

Bold move Khan... we will have to see if it works out. Maybe we can get our London game on the Ocho next year.

This should end any arguments that Khan is a 'good' owner just because he keeps the team here, but just cant pick the right people and doesnt understand the business. If a politician keeps throwing money at a problem that never gets fixed and then doubles down and spends twice as much with no improvement, then that politician is a BAD polititcian. You can extrapolate this argument to any job and the conclusion will be the same. The guy apparently cant or wont learn from his mistakes. And thats the textbook definition of BAD.

I think he had heard it, but didn't want to believe it.  He then got a reality check that he couldn't dismiss.

It’s seems every franchises owner has some quirks about them. Cincy’s is broke, Dallas’ is a fish eyed pervert, the rams have a money hungry d bag… unfortunately ours is just a mega rich dumb [BLEEP] who’s main goal is to impress other owners and not our fan base.

I think we as fans should take it easy on the owner. He is a trusting guy, and he trusted Balkie which didn’t work out. Time to move on and hope for the best. At least it’s a fresh start now without Balkie around.

I agree.  We wanted Baalke out, finally Baalke is out, and now we're unhappy at the timing.   Let's be happy.  Baalke is out.  And let's hope this time, we get the right people in there, and then, having a hands-off owner will be a good thing.

We have every right to be angry at Khan. His tone deafness and bad timing has the very real possibility of condemning the franchise to years more of mediocre football.

Getting rid of Baalke isn’t the end all to our angst, it was just the beginning. But because Khan is stubborn about being regarded as an owner who isn’t swayed by the fans, he’s quite possibly condemned the team to endure more of the same mediocre garbage.

This, time to move on.  I wish he was fired sooner but he's gone now and I'm not going to sit here and whine and cry about it.  I wanted Doug and Baalke fired and they are both out so that's a good thing.  I also didn't want Coen so that might be a blessing in disguise imo.

"Ethan Waugh will serve as interim general manager and play an important role, with others, as we continue the process of interviewing candidates to serve as our new head coach. I am deeply committed to building a winner here in Jacksonville and look forward to introducing a new head coach who will make that happen for our players and fans alike."

I don't see anything about hiring a GM in Shads statement.

Were all happy Baalkes gone but you can't just ignore the fact it happened 3 weeks too late and has hurt us our probable top 2 targets.

They had months to plan for this.

Khan finally did what we have wanted him to do for the longest time, and he get ripped for doing it.

I think the Jags have become a convenient whipping boy for loads of pundits and writers, so whatever we do, someone is going to rip us for doing it, even if it's the right thing, until we start winning games.

I dont think it's too late to right the ship. The tumor is out later than we wanted but at least we'll live now. I think he desperately needs to get an EVP in place, he clearly has no idea what's going on and his finger is far from the pulse.

The problem is that this was clear and obvious to literally everyone. Everyone. But it's now been done in a way that caused significant damage to the team moving forward. It took #becausejaguars to a new depth.

Ecstatic that Baalke is gone! This legit feels like when Snyder sold the Skins. Even if some good things happen (2022, drafting BTJ), you just knew the dark cloud was still there. He’s gone and the Jags can FINALLY clean house. Now they need to do the following:

1. Ian Cunningham or Mike Greenberg (Bucs org not the ESPN dude)
2. Call Liam Coen back
3. If no Coen, Joe Brady

Monken is old. No to a DC as HC.

I still can’t believe yesterday happened. Being a Jags fan is exhausting

If I’m Khan, I’d hire Spielman as EVP to run the coaching search (he helped Washington) and keep Waugh on as head scout but remove the interim GM title so he wouldn’t get his hopes up. Then, after the dust settles, let Spielman find a GM compatible with the new coach who both report to Spielman.
