Jaguars 2025 Draft - I think it comes down to 3 players, and a look at other players

Travis Hunter won’t get past pick 4, so he’s not considered unless he falls 1 spot like Jalen Ramsey did in 2016. If Hunter is there at 5, he’s the pick. If not, here are the 3 guys the Jaguars will be eyeing:
1. Mason Graham DT (Michigan) 2. Will Johnson CB (Michigan) 3. Will Campbell OT (LSU) I’ll throw in 2 wildcards: 1. Mykel Williams DE (Georgia) 2. Malaki Starks S (Georgia), if the Jaguars can trade back and accumulate some extra picks. If Starks is off the board then Xavier Watts would be just as nice. Graham would be able to step in immediately and help a position of great need, and the value is there at pick 3. Johnson will turn out to be the best CB from this draft class, and he could step in and start week 1. Campbell could give more flexibility to a group that has seen Little play Guard and both tackle spots over the last couple of seasons. This pick would allow you to put the best 5 guys on the field. The value is lacking but the upside is there. I’m not a “needs draft guy” but I hope they do something with that secondary. Defensive tackle is just as high on the list. If you decide to go heavy on secondary, you can get creative at DT with Free Agency. Underneath defensive tackle, the Jaguars defensive ends unit is bare after Walker and Hines-Allen. If you want to be a playoff team with a chance to beat any team in the league, you gotta get after the QB. This is another position that can be filled through Free Agency. Find a way to keep Christian Kirk. I know his contract don’t match the productivity, but he’s shown what he can bring to the table. Giving Lawrence 2 capable receivers in Kirk and Thomas, along with a Pro Bowl tight end will do anything but hurt him. Add the water-bug Parker Washington and Brenton Strange to the mix and that gives you a nice receiving unit. Bigsby led the team in rushing, and it’s time to see what he can do as the premier back. Last season the running game hurt this offense in some big ways. Tank is a reckless runner in a good way. Washington should be your full time return man. Punts and Kickoffs. Duvernay and Davis is not needed. I’m ready to see what Maason can do at DT with a full 17 game season. The potential is there. We show less advertisements to registered users. I assume you figure 1-2-3-4 to go Sanders, Ward, Hunter, Carter, in some order?
Interesting list, and I lean similarly. I wouldn't take Campbell at 5 unless he tests off the charts at combine/proday. But like Starks, he's a great candidate if you can move back and recoup some extra day 2 pick(s) and still get him. I would have McMillan in this list too, I think PDub is eventually going to take Kirk's spot over, and McMillan would be much better on the sidelines than Gabe. Kinda sucks to bypass the big guys, but if BTJ and McMillan can be the next Chase and Higgins, damn, I'm down for that. Day 2 would have to be about the big guys. Would love it if Grant is still on the board, he could let us move on from Ham or at the very least relegate him to the bench, maybe he'd be better on fresh legs.
Most likely it will be Sanders as the number 1 pick and then Cleveland has to decide if they want a QB or Carter. Most likely it will be Carter as the 2nd overall pick.
Giants can’t afford to pass on Cam Ward, which will allow the Patriots to scoop Hunter. 1. Sanders 2. Carter 3. Ward 4. Hunter If I’m the Jaguars GM, I would figure out a way to move up 1 spot before the draft and draft the best overall player in college football.
Round 1: CB Will Johnson
Round 2: S Xavier Watts They would both be immediate starters. He added Mason Taylor and Trevor Etienne in round 3. Hopefully the Jaguars do not follow his line of thinking. While Johnson and Watts should both be good NFL players, the Jaguars should go in a different direction, Round 1: If Hunter and Carter are gone, try to trade down and get another 2nd round pick. As long as they stay in the top 10-12, there should be several good options- possibly even Johnson who has question-marks about his injury and speed. He'd be a great pick at that point as long as he "passes" the Combine tests. Other options include an offensive lineman like Membou who can play both guard and tackle, McMillan, Jalen Walker and Walter Nolen. Round 2: Must take an interior OL here. So many good options including Zabel, Ratledge, Booker, Ersery, Jackson, Milum and Savaiinaea. If they add a 2nd pick in this round, look at the BAP among DT, edge rusher, wide receiver, cornerback and safety. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

The radio guys read the message board. Side note: this is one of those drafts that could change the trajectory of the Jaguars franchise for the next 5 years, because they could move up 1 spot to ensure they get Hunter. The worst thing would be for another team from the middle/bottom of the draft decides to jump Jacksonville in order to draft Hunter. The Patriots organization is in a pivotal position where they could just sit and pick Hunter, but it would benefit them more by trading back to accumulate more talent. What you don’t wanna see, is an another team leap-frog the 5th spot if the Jaguars have a chance to sit and pick Hunter, but another team beats us to the punch. Mark Sanchez turned out to be a below average QB, but I remember fans wanting to draft him, but the Jets jumped the Jaguars in that draft. |
