I didn't watch but both sides are equally as bad when the opposing party President hosts these speeches. Not sure which is worse, watching our reps act like immature kids or watching winners of the Oscars make their acceptance speeches. I don't watch either anymore
The 23% and Dem's need to understand one thing. During the 4 year Biden presidency they managed to do things no one would have thought possible. They united the Repub's and increased their ranks. The increase is coming at the expense of their own ranks as long time moderate Dem's switch parties. Independents are also joining at a rapid pace. They need to take a Psychology 101 course.
Personally, I agree with Washington, who did not believe in political parties.

You are also correct in your understanding of George Washington's personal views. He hated political parties and genuinely thought that the convoluted processes in the Constitution would prevent parties from forming. Where you, Washington, and so many others in this country fall down is you fail to see that the system does not work as designed. It does not prevent parties from forming, but rather calcifies the political parties that do form. Ideologies and personalities come and go but the party as an institution is embedded, waiting to be taken over by new ideologies and new personalities. Therefore until the system changes, no one who works outside the parties will ever hold any power. Only people who work to change the parties from within can hold power.

It does not prevent parties as that would be a restriction of individual freedom. You have the right to the bold opinion, but I just do not agree with it. It is not an absolute. Washington, the many others and myself did not and are not falling down, perhaps you are. Also, since you were not there when written or knew any of the writers you cannot absolutely say it is not working as intended. All of that is your opinion and you have one vote. I have one vote as well. I actually vote for the policies. The Democrat's policies are not aligned with my beliefs. Last nights display by them further alienated me from their party. The supporting of wasteful spending of tax dollars and obstructionism may very well eventually relegate them to a party smaller than the Libertarians. You may want to retake that 101 course as well.

Neither of us were there, but we know how it was intended to work because we have the Federalist Papers and also private letters from the people involved explain how it was intended to work. We know it did not work as intended because our fourth President, who was intimately involved in the writing process, said so himself multiple times. There is an individual freedom to try to make a new party, but, it will never work because the existing parties are too far ahead. It's a systemic issue, not a legal issue. I'm not talking about policies and I'm not trying to persuade you to vote for Democrats. I'm just educating you that unless there is another civil war, or unless they all get together and decide to disband and start over for some reason, neither the Democratic Party nor the Republican Party will ever die out or be surpassed by a new third party. This is due to a combination of factors that are built into our system, that aren't present in other election systems.
