Vandals Flip Smart Cars Over in San Francisco

Vandals Flip Smart Cars Over in San Francisco

Someone's been vandalizing compact Smart cars in San Francisco, flipping the tiny vehicles on their front and rear ends in the city's streets.

NBC Bay Area found four of the targeted Smart cars between Sunday night and Monday morning. Two were found in the Bernal Heights neighborhood on Anderson Street, and another was found a bit south on Sweeny and Bowdoin streets, closer to the Portola district. They were either sitting on their headlights, rear bumpers high in the air, or vice versa.

just more examples of a savage society we live in nowadays.

I can't stand those little cars, though. You'd think they'd make 'em at least with better gas milage if you are going to have to drive something so hokey like that. At least the Prius gets almost 50 mpg for an ugly car.

Actually, the crime rate in the USA has been declining since the early 90's and is comparable to the level seen in the 60's (before the uptick in the 70s that lasted thru the end of the 80s).

Lol yes this is a prime example of a savage society. The Holocaust was child's play compared to flipping tiny cars.

What? But that can't be true. TMD has seen it with his own eyes. Kids just don't say thank you and yes m'am like they did before. He can't prove it, but its true, come on TMD tell'em.

Don't forget about those serial killers like Gacy, Bundy, Manson, Dahmer, etc. Those guys were tame compared to these darn kids nowadays who are always talking back to their parents.

I saw some stats that would make you go hmmmm today. I was going to post it, but it'd be a fruitless effort as you'd spin it however you wish.

<p style="margin-left:40px;">"Tipping over large, heavy objects just for kicks is nothing new. High schoolers, football teams and fraternities have supposedly been tipping cows in pastures for years, and picking up VW bugs and moving them elsewhere was a minor fad back in the 1960s and 1970s."

Figures.

A frat prank such as picking up the VW bugs and moving them elsewhere is one thing......the evil spirited intentions of the punks that do vandalism today is on a different level. Those smart cars that were turned over were probably severely damaged.

What makes it so amusing is how serious you are.

Some players on my HS football team flipped a teacher's VW on it's roof two days prior to summer vacation...

I can still see his surprised expression...

Oh, I didn't realize vandalizing other's property and causing possibly serious damage was hilarious. Sorry.

The Smart was developed in the nineties. For a car that age its mileage is very good. Mileage didn't even become a massive selling point until about 2005.
