DE's and OLB's outside of the First Round
|
Pat Kirwan of CBSSports.com gives a list of ten players that can be had outside of the First Round. On a side note, I want all of them.
<p style="margin-left:40px;">"...While plowing through my film study of the top players, I've have come across a number of "non" first-rounders that I would love on my team -- guys with physical-trait issues, underrated production and for one reason or another aren't talked about very much ..." <p style="margin-left:40px;"> <p style="margin-left:40px;">1. Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech: <p style="margin-left:40px;">2. Devon Kennard, OLB, Southern California: <p style="margin-left:40px;">3. Cassius Marsh, DE, UCLA: <p style="margin-left:40px;">4. Taylor Hart, DE, Oregon: <p style="margin-left:40px;">5. Preston Brown, ILB, Louisville: <p style="margin-left:40px;">6. Chris Borland, ILB, Wisconsin: <p style="margin-left:40px;">7. Trevor Reilly, OLB, Utah: <p style="margin-left:40px;">8. Marcus Smith, DE/OLB, Louisville: <p style="margin-left:40px;">9. Jackson Jeffcoat, DE/OLB, Texas: <p style="margin-left:40px;">10. Trent Murphy, DE/OLB, Stanford:

Attaochu has always seemed like a perfect fit for what Bradley does. I could definitely see him as an option at 39.
This Kennard guy interests me. I found the following blurb on him on the same website:
<p style="margin-left:40px;">"...Kennard, a senior 3-year starter and 2013 team captain, leads the Trojans in sacks (8) in 2013 to go along with his 48 tackles, 10 tackles for loss 4 deflections and a fumble recovery... He has a 3.23 GPA while getting his master's degree in communication management. He received his bachelor's degree in communication in the spring of 2012 ..." <p style="margin-left:40px;"> Also, doesn't Taylor Hart, at 6-6, 281 just scream 'Red Bryant lite' to you?

Kennard is an interesting prospect. I know he does have some injury concerns but could be worth a late round pick.
I would love Attaouchu in round 2.

I hope that means he has Lawrence inside first round then cause wowza if he really has first round DE/OLB AND 10 more ahead of him.
Borland has always intrigued me. He's the definition of a football player. He's not big or fast but is always around the ball or making the tackle. Could he play outside for a few years while being groomed as Poz's replacement?

I really really like Ryan Shazier also after watching some more tape. Dudes a baller
Shock the world

Dudes a baller I don't see how he makes it to the Second Round. He put his athleticism on display this offseason and his game tape backs it up. I feel like he's going to be a good one.

I want him.

I like Trevor Reilly, and he is likely to fall into value consideration, as he is recovering from knee surgery and he is 26 years old (served a 2 year mission). He put up numbers fairly similar to Khalil Mack at his pro day, also showing that the knee is recovering well. Just by looks, for some reason, he reminds me of a younger Aaron Kampman.

With potential medical concerns? Eeesh.
