Jaguars sign RB Ja’quinden Jackson to a 3 year contract
|
It’s crazy that Jackson went undrafted. He hits the hole at full speed, and has exceptional field vision. He catches the football clean out of the backfield, and as a former QB, he knows when to peel off a block for a release to help the QB out.
Has some break away speed in the open field. 1 cut and go type of runner. Just an athlete. Shoelace but better. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I’m looking forward to watching what he can do with this opportunity.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023.
And just like that ETN isn't needed any longer.

Tank is better, still on his rookie deal, and now ETN is competing with 3 guys they selected. Wish my mom would have named me something cool like Ja’quinden instead of Hurricane!!!
Etienne was outplayed by Bigsby last season, and probably lost his starting spot. He was buns last year.

With the Shotgun-heavy offense in todays game, we need a big back like Jackson that can help pick up the blitz. Etienne and Bigsby both were terrible in that department.
Jackson will most likely be that 3rd down back that can move the sticks if we need a couple yards for the first down,. With his experience at QB and his size, he can help out by picking up that extra guy when the defense sends the house.

Nah, it wasn't me but some marketing guy probably made some money selling my idea. I don't see how a guy they signed to a three year deal is here to be PS material; there's not much guaranteed there but it's still a pretty visible commitment to an UDFA. I also don't see how the two draft picks, who they have more invested in than Jackson, go there either. If they move ETN then it's those 4 guys which is the usual compliment of running backs these days. If they don't then they're cutting one of the three guys they just selected to be here. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Jackson’s contract is peanuts. If he’s on the roster on opening day, he’s most likely inactive week to week. However, if he can block and pick up the pass rush, he may have real value in Liam’s offense. He’s got good size, but he’s not going to run away from anyone. So, a short yardage guy? Pass rush blocking? He may be a big asset.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I simply think ETN hit the career wall and he's unlikely to regain his previous numbers. Meanwhile we drafted two guys and have Tank already having exceeded ETN which really does make him expendable if Jackson can be the last guy if needed. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Just hope he can play a big part in the revival hopefully with Jaguars winning again.

If they keep him, big if, how many carries before his first injury? How many touches in game 1 when he's definitely behind Tank, likely behind Bayshel, and they have Allen sitting there for 3rd down? Again, why would you give carries to the old, declining guy when you've already filled his role with rookies and he doesnt even play special teams? He's money for nothing at this point. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
