For the Jags to move back to 10 from 3, I'd be only willing to do it for their (Detroit's) 2nd rounder in 2014, their 3rd rounder in 2014, plus their 1st rounder in 2015. 

 

I don't see them prepared to pay that.

I gotta be honest, while I do like the idea of bringing in a haul of draft picks, it just seems like #10 will put us out of some really good players. I don't even think Barr will be around by that point, and he's at the fringe of the that "really really good player" level.

Maybe the Jaguars value a WR like Evans more so than a Watkins? Could be one player they would look at with the 10th pick.

I currently see Clowney going 1 and Watkins going 2 so I don't think it would effect is at all.

Miami moved from 12 to 3 last year and only gave up a 2nd. Last years class wasn't as deep either, so the second wasn't as valuable as a second this year. I'd take the 2nd and 3rd this year. If we aren't going to take Bridgewater, I would rather have Evans/Ebron/Gilbert/ and 4 total picks on day 2 than Watkins/Mack.

Ebron is quite the athlete, even though he does play TE. Of the very narrow view that we have of Caldwell's drafting history, he seems to like his weapons - see; Sanders, Ace and Robinson, Denard - and Ebron seems like just such a weapon. Besides, M. Lewis isn't going to be playing forever and it would be really nice to have two pass catching threats at the TE spot for at least a few seasons.

I do agree, but IMO taking a TE at 10 would be a major surprise, not that i am not for drafting Ebron

Picking at 10 won't put us out of some really good players, as IMO, Gilbert, Barr, Ebron and Evans will all still be there at 10. 

 

The issue though, is getting enough of a value return in compensation in moving back from 3 to 10.

 

The Jags theoretically could reasonably trade back 2 times - from 3 to 6 and then from 6 to 10 and net a couple 2nd rounders + an additional couple 4th rounders or so, in that scenario. So, to move back 7 spots in one fell swoop, it needs to be a deal that equals or even tops that.

Uhmmm, no....

 

If you put a WR on the opposite of Megatron with Watkins ability and then have Tate in the slot, that offense will be practically unstoppable.
