Everyone will discuss the prospects that the Jags drafted, the ones that they passed on, etc...

 

A lot of people will be gung ho about everyone we drafted, and talk about how they'll be good.  Any previous vitrol for players will be long forgotten until the player doesn't work out, at which point the vitrol will return with a vengeance.

 

Personally if Manziel is drafted, I will be concerned, but excited.  I'm not sure he'll translate well into the NFL.  But I'll be excited about any of the Top QB's getting drafted by the Jags.

I think even though some may have initially opposed the choice, I think most will be enthusiastic about seeing the new guys in minicamps/OTAs/whichever ones are open to the public post draft, then training camp.

 

I think you'll see some debating whether or not we should have traded up/down (see Gene Smith's trade of a 2010 2nd round pick for the right to choose Derek Cox in the 3rd round in 2009).

 

But yeah, I think most will fall in line with who the team picks until preseason.

 

If any opposed the pick at the time, and the pick shows any signs of struggle, then you'll hear them.

We also get a bunch of new posters from the college of our first round pick claiming they are totally Jags fans now. They usually don't make it to the regular season.

Depending upon the player, there will be hordes or a slight trickle.

 

Matt Jones seems to have brought all of Arkansas.  Not too many hogs left over.

 

My guess is we'd see a similar dynamic with Manziel, should the team draft him...but they would stay should he succeed.

It is called 'the dead zone'. It's that time of year that exists when nothing of sporting significance is happening. Football is trying gear up for training camp. Basketball is winding down from the playoffs. Baseball is still weeks away from the all star break, and hockey is........... Hockey.


In short, get off these boards and get some sun. Once trainingcamp starts all outside life will cease to exist.
